The new Renault Megane Sport Tourer is now official.
The car’s specifications, trimlines available and pricing has been revealed by the brand giving buyers a good idea of what to expect.
For those who were planning to go with a Renault car, the wait is really short as the new Megane Sport Tourer will be available in the UK next month. Pricing for the base variant starts at £18,550. While the price difference is very minimal when compared to immediate competitors like SEAT Leon ST and Volkswagen Golf Estate, Renault’s offering is competitive but is priced higher than the Ford Focus Estate. Buyers will be able to choose from four different engines including two petrol variants and two diesel engine variants. Each trimline is distinctly delivered with specific features and add-on technologies to offer value for what buyers pay.
The base model of the Renault Megane Sport Tourer is powered by a 1.2-liter TCe petrol engine capable of delivering up to 128 horsepower and is mated to a manual gearbox system. The trim level is named as the Expression+ trim and can be upgraded to seven speed EDC automatic transmission if you are willing to pay additional £1,200. The next in the lineup is a powerful tourer which can offer an amazing 202 horsepower made possible by its powerful petrol engine. The trimline is priced at £27,450. It can go from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 7.4 seconds with a top speed of 145 mph.
Renault Megane Sport Tourer is offered with a 1.5-liter diesel engine variant that can render 108 horsepower and is priced at £19,850. Another 1.6-liter diesel engine variant produces about 128 horsepower making it a more powerful variant but with a cheaper fuel alternative. Renault has confirmed that their engineers are keen on hybrid and other variants which will be launched in the following year after the initial launch. The GT Nav is the range topping model designed to offer best acceleration and top speed.
Base model uses leather wrapping on the steering wheel, has LED daytime running lights and 16-inch alloy wheels. It also supports bluetooth and AUX for easier connectivity. Dynamique is the next trimline model which features all these in the Expression+ along with automatic wipers, headlights, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning and easy headlight controls to switch them from high to low beam.
Inside the cabin, there’s a 7-inch infotainment system screen with DAB radio and satellite navigation controls. Other variants get much exquisite options but with a higher price tag.
