The Renault Twingo GT and the Dynamique S were launched by the auto brand which confirmed that they will go on sale from the 1st of December.
The Twingo GT is one of the most popular models in the city car range and efficiently utilizes the rear wheel drive to balance performance with fuel efficiency. The improved edition is powered by a turbocharged three cylinder engine capable of producing up to 108 horsepower with 125lb feet of torque. The engine capacity is marked at 898cc which now boasts of brand new air intakes and engine mapping for much better performance than the existing model. The power output is a slight increase over the current model but it is more than enough to justify the slight price increase. Renault also promised that people will experience much better gearbox ratio for a smoother drive.
Priced at £13,755, the new Renault Twingo GT edition is considered an affordable variant in the UK. It can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in about 9.6 seconds. The top is at 113mph. The auto brand proudly added that they have brought the best engine response to the new GT edition which can throttle to 75mph within 9 seconds making it their fastest variant in recent times.
The engineers have largely focused on boosting the agility of the car to great levels by making minor adjustments to the chassis with a variable ratio steering setup. Car mapping is done with the help of the electronic stability program ESP that adds dynamic handling to the Renault Twingo GT. The car also takes some inspirational design elements from the Twin’Run to add exterior stripes, twin exit exhaust system and bigger 17-inch alloy wheels. It’s default color is orange while three other color choices are provided by Renault.
Next in the launch lineup is the Renault Dynamique S priced at £12, 205 with an 898cc engine. The powertrain can generate about 89 horsepower with the turbocharged engine and about 69hp with a conventional engine. It is mated to a five speed manual gearbox which can be upgraded to a six speed dual clutch automatic transmission system. The top of the line Dynamique S can go from 0 to 62 miles per hour in about 10.8 seconds.
Standard features found in this new Renault car include partial leather upholstery, 16-inch alloy wheels and aluminum pedals. Buyers can upgrade their car with automatic lights, wipers, tinted windows and dedicated parking sensors.
