Revamped 2016 Lexus is Getting Ready for Beijing Expo Reveal

The revamped version of the 2016 Lexus is heading to the upcoming Beijing auto expo and the auto company has launched a teaser image to keep the crowd excited until the big day.

The event is scheduled to take place next week. Every other automobile brand is out there ready to launch one or many of their next generation models. The expo obviously has a lot of sporty models with hybrid powertrains and there’s some strong focus on the SUV segment as well. The Lexus compact sedan didn’t receive a refresh since its 2014 launch and with two years down line, it’s obviously time for a makeover.

2016 Lexus GS F

The 2014 Lexus sedan was originally revealed at the Detroit show held in 2013. During its launch, the car faced a lot of criticism because Lexus choose to take a whole new path to its design. They made it compact yet highly premium at the same time with plenty of features added to it. Such changes are never welcome in any industry as buyers are usually used to what the brand has had throughout the years. The sedan was based on the L-finesse design and now they are going to refresh it one more time.

Despite the uproar, the sedan sold decent numbers and with a brand new next generation model, it could probably capture the attention of buyers once again. Lexus is tight lipped about their upcoming launch as they said that a list of exciting breakthroughs is going to be brought in with the launch. But, they didn’t specify particular feature or any other information related to the car.

“A bold evolution is design is what we are aiming at which will be complimented with enhanced visual impact,” the company’s boss said. The upcoming model is expected to be powered by a 2.0-liter I-4 engine capable of delivering 241 horsepower and has 258 lb feet of torque. It uses an eight speed automatic transmission system. Another version will use a 2.5-liter V6 engine with six speed automatic transmission.

Inside sources added that the top of the line model of the 2016 Lexus sedan will be powered by a V6 3.5-liter engine capable of delivering 255 horsepower with 236 lb feet of torque. It uses the same eight speed gearbox with automatic transmission. Once Lexus announces the car at the Beijing show, we will be able to know more information from their press statement.
