Rihanna reported to the Associated Press that she will shortly reveal her celebratory plans on completing a decade in the music industry. She commented at a recent interview, ‘Definitely a very big deal for me.
You know, I can’t believe its 10 years already, but we definitely have to celebrate this year. There are a few things in my mind, so you’ll have to wait on that, but don’t think I am forgetting because this means a lot to me that I made it to 10 years’.
Rihanna, called fondly as RiRi, released ‘Music of the Sun’, her first album in 2005 and since then has launched many top 10 hits, has won eight Grammy awards and has released six more albums, the last one being ‘Unapologetic’ at the end of 2012. Her 10 years in the music industry covers a wide range of singles starting with ‘Pon de Replay’ way back in 2005 to the latest BHMM in 2015 as she has grown from strength to strength increasing her fan base with her style, music and dance.
Rihanna was interviewed while she was at Macy’s in Brooklyn to launch a new fragrance RiRi as part of a trilogy series. She commented with a smile, ‘I wanted to do something fun, something that made you feel young, flirty, you know, cute. It’s like a brand-new pair of shoes’.
Screams from her fans inside the store reached feverish heights as they sang her lyrics and danced to one of her songs that blared from the speakers. She reciprocated to this frenzy by saying that she knew it was a great decision to choose Brooklyn where her fans are full of energy and loud and that she loves loud. She was confident that they will turn up in big numbers for the launch, she added.
This year the BBHMM singer has released ‘FourFiveSeconds’ which was in the top- five-hit list. Other singles that she has dropped this year include ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ and ‘American Oxygen’. She has also been working on her eighth album which she said was going ‘really, really great’ and has recorded plenty of songs and is waiting to release it soon. ‘That’s my next step,’ she was quoted as saying.
