Ssangyong Tivoli XLV is Bigger and Better, Coming to Geneva Show

Tivoli is a popular crossover range of SUVs offered by Ssangyong and the brand is looking forward to expand the lineup. The next car in the lineup will be bigger, spacious and has new add-ons scheduled to make its debut at the Geneva motor show.

The entire design of the new Tivoli is inspired and based on the XLV Air Concept. The concept car was showcased by the brand at the Frankfurt motor show in 2015. Even though, Ssangyong has given us a glimpse of how the car will look like, it was purely a concept last year. Many of the features and design elements on the SUV may or may have not made it to the production version. We can confirm it only when it is displayed at the Geneva show next month.

A surprising factor is that the wheelbase of the Ssangyong Tivoli XLV is 2600mm which is exactly the same as the one used in the original Tivoli. However, the designers have done an excellent job by stretching the C-pillar at the back. It has been stretched by 235mm which has led to the crossover SUV looking big and offering more space for passengers and cargo.

The conventional model of the Tivoli offers 423 liters of space but the new XLV variant has bumped it up so high that its total storage capacity is 720 liters. That’s a huge improvement especially when they have managed to accomplish it without increasing the wheelbase. The storage capacity is calculated when rear seats are in upright position and it increases further when it is folded.

The new model is powered by a 1.6-liter petrol and diesel engine variants. The SUV uses a six-speed manual transmission system by default but buyers can choose to go for an automatic transmission if they prefer to. There will be both, front wheel and all-wheel drive models to choose from.

Ssangyong’s Tivoli XLV will make its first debut at the Geneva motor show and hit stores in US, UK among other select regions. Pricing for the car has not been confirmed but industry experts confirmed that it will be two to three thousand dollars higher when compared to the base price of the conventional Tivoli model.

While it doesn’t drastically change in terms of design, the new XLV offers more space, comfort and a versatile range of powertrains to buyers. The company’s representative confirmed that their motive is to reach as many people as possible and such a feat is possible only when their car is able to cater to a wide range of individual lifestyles.
