Inspired by the success Tesla witnessed, at least two different auto makers have forayed into the market. Dubuc Motors is one of them who have their Tomahawk EV set for public launch in 2017.
The company is highly confident of what they have to offer and has confirmed that their upcoming first electric car will easily offer at least 300 miles of range on a single charge. It is an exponential claim to make because unless the brand is going to increase the pricing of the car to unprecedented levels and equip it with relatively large batteries, it is not possible to deliver such a mile range.
However, Dubuc Motors is confident of what they have, up their sleeve. Faraday Future is the other company which showcased a concept car at the Consumer Electronics Show 2016. The car’s model was quite unbelievable, because it was too weird to be on the road and had a lot of design flaws which may make it impossible to drive, especially when it is supposed to have 1000 horsepower. Such speed should be compensated by good aerodynamics and safety.
Following suit is Dubuc Motors who confirmed that their super electric car Tomahawk can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 3 seconds. The car has a 300 mile range according to the company and has a top speed of 160 miles per hour. They have made some investment while seeking at least $25 million in a crowd funding campaign.
The Tomahawk EV is powered by an aluminum body which weighs quite less when compared to conventional steel builds. Yet, it is robust and durable enough to withstand any collisions and will also offer better aerodynamics so as to make it easy to touch the top speed without using too much of the battery power. The car has two scissor doors on the sides and is equipped with cameras on all directions to provide GPS navigation, collision warning, among other safety features.
Even though, it is a sports car, the vehicle can comfortably accommodate four passengers at once, making it an ideal choice for people who like to go on long drives with friends or family. They have also released an official video which shows the electric car in action. You can take a look at it to get an idea of how it works and how fast it can actually go on road.
