Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the boxer engine, Subaru Forester special edition has been officially confirmed by the company.
The brand has proudly launched this new car which boasts of useful features, new color variant and a brand new finish giving it the much needed exclusivity. The Subaru Forester special edition is available in a hunter green metallic paint. For those aspiring hunters and those who love to go on adventurous trips, the hunter green is an apt choice. The color has been used throughout the wagon in the front, rear and sideguards. It includes wheelarch extensions and has a stainless steel cargo step panel.
A series of brown leather fixtures can be found on the inside of the car. It is equipped with brown leather seats and the same material is used for the upholstery as well as the sides of the cabin. The infotainment system uses a spacious 7-inch display which with its touchscreen capabilities make navigation easy. Satellite navigation commands are shared through the screen and it also has hill descent control.
The company’s proprietary X-mode is incorporated in the Subaru Forester Special Edition. The technology allows the car to automatically adjust its speed, torque, powertrain output and brakes to offer the best traction in slippery surfaces. The concept is similar to autonomous driving but it requires a driver to manage the car while all these controls will be carried out on the inside.
In the special edition, Subaru has significantly improved the off-road capability of the Forester by increasing its ground clearance by 220mm. Driving through steep roads and angled surfaces should now be much easier than it used to be in the previous edition models. The car is powered by 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine capable of producing up to 145 horsepower. It can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 10.2 seconds.
The petrol version of the Subaru Forester special edition is priced at £29,995 while the diesel powertrain costs higher at £31,495. Only 100 of these units will be sold and buyers will receive additional equipment at no extra cost. Being a limited edition variant, it should be bit difficult to purchase it in your region unless you have pre-ordered it already.
With a special pricing and couple of additional equipment without extra cost, it’s an easy buy for off-road travelers. The model has five years, 100,000-mile warranty.
