Honda Gearing Up to Show 2016 Civic Coupe at LA Auto Show

If there is an award for the most number of variants in a series, Honda will easily win it for their Civic series. The auto manufacturer is going to unveil a brand new 2016 Civic Coupe at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show.

The show has been gaining traction with multiple vendors gearing up to showcase some of their best vehicles. Top brands, including Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz have confirmed their participation in the event. Honda will obviously be taking part in the event during which they have confirmed that the 2016 Civic Coupe will be on display for the first time. They are planning to launch a two door model with much sportier lines, according to the official press statement.

The smaller two door variant of the coupe will be using the same 2.0-liter inline four engine or the 1.5-liter turbo engine as found in the four door model. Civics are known for the lineup it offers and Honda promised that even though the model is around for 43 years now, they are going to show a lineup like never before, during the Los Angeles Auto Show. It will be the most diverse and innovative choices ever offered, claimed the company.

Apart from the four door and the two door models, there will be an utterly stylish Type R model, a five door larger hatchback design and a Si. The Type R is relatively new to people in the United States and it will probably be one of the fresh entries to land in the country in a long time. After the auto show reveal, Honda will bring the coupes to the dealership stores within a month’s time.

Earlier, Honda revealed the Clarity FCV in the Tokyo Motor Show. The company, in their detailed press statement, has talked at length about the new clarity fuel cell that they plan to use. It will be an innovative alternative fuel technology which allows the designers to mount the fuel cell stack as well as the drivetrain system in the front of the car.

The Los Angeles Auto Show is scheduled to take place on November 18 during which Honda will provide more technical details about the 2016 Civic Coupe lineup. We expect the automobile manufacturer to reveal the pricing of the car for the United States customers. With so many models available, it might be difficult to keep track of the price list, but we will surely bring it all.

2016 Honda Civic – 5 Things That Make the Car Impressive

The brand new 2016 Honda Civic is out and while it may fool you by looking very conventional, the sedan has a lot more packed inside to be the next big commuter’s choice next year.

As a matter of fact, Honda has the upper hand with their Civic model because the car has been out for a decade and this is the 10th generation launch. If they choose to go with minor changes and launch a mediocre car, people would still buy it. They didn’t do it surprisingly, but have spent months working on new technologies and a completely new body to make the sedan extra safe.

The team has come up with an amazing body design which is easily the first point that makes it so good on the road. The car faces stiff competition from companies like Ford and Mazda which has prompted them to alter the front, making it look meaner and sharp. The wheels as well as the tailpipes are modified as well, especially the boomerang inspired headlights and the car looks muscular than ever.

If you haven’t noticed by now, the car is much bigger than it used to be, which boosts it legroom and headroom. People in the rear gain 2.2 inches extra space to be precise while the car is 3 inches longer than it used to be. For an average consumer, it might look meager when spaces are measured in inches, but you can experience it when you actually sit in the car.

A couple of new technologies have been incorporated into the vehicle which is another impressive feature that makes the 2016 Honda Civic irresistible. It supports Apple’s Car Play and Android Auto on all its trim levels that are above the EX standard. The car is also equipped with Honda Sensing, a brand name under which, a new list of safety features have been incorporated for the safety of the passengers.

It features a lighter body made possible by Advanced Compatibility Engineering. The technology allowed the car designers to shave off 68 pounds off it and it is mainly built on top of steel with advanced layering that makes it extremely robust, yet lightweight. Being lightweight obviously leads to better control as well as increased fuel efficiency.

2016 Honda Civic is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower which is more than enough for everyday commute. With everything in place including an affordable price tag, we can say that Honda has hit jackpot one more time with the Civic.

2016 Honda Civic Designed with More Class and Improved Performance: Errors of the Predecessor Corrected

The new 2016 Honda Civic has been redesigned with added class and enhanced performance features.

The company openly admitted to the fact that the previous 9th generation model failed to live up to customer expectations. Now, Honda has taken pains to ensure all errors and goof-ups stand corrected in the 10th generation Civic.

The predecessor was launched in 2012 and irritants included a jittery ride, excessive noise, cheap interiors and inept handling. Hence, the 9th generation fell short of expectations and in an attempt to correct these goofs, Honda brought about a few upgraded about 18 months later which was just about passable.

For the 2016 model, Honda has refurbished the Civic brand by constructing it on an entirely new platform and employing two new engines. As against the outgoing model, the 10th generation Civic is lower, wider and longer and yet is more lightweight too.

While the top-end models will feature a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine delivering 174 hp, the lower-end specs will feature a new 2L 4-cylinder unit delivering 158 hp. The engines are connected to automatic transmission system; the manual option is available only in the Base LX model.

The 2016 Honda Civic is positioned not only against the regular Toyota Corolla and similar vehicles but also to take on the Audi A3. While the 2L engine units in the base level offer sufficient power provided the demand is reasonable, the top-spec’s new engine offers immense advantages for a silent and smooth drive.

The ample and ever-ready torque allows the driver to achieve good speed at the lower and mid-level range where the CVT is more palatable. The silently working turbo engines also masks any jerks and sudden movements in the transmission system.  The top-end models featuring this new engine are the Touring, EX-T and EX-L versions.

The chassis is also redesigned and fine-tuned for improved and fluent handling. The steering is also direct and smooth and the turn-in response remains good even when the turning is sharper. The car movement is steady and controlled thanks to a refined body control.  The excessive noise of the earlier model is now more muted and all these factors make the new 2016 Honda Civic a substantial and mature feel.

The interiors are more contemporary and minimalist without the clutter of the earlier twin-layer instrument panel. The base models come with a simple audio system while the higher-end models feature Honda’s capacitive touchscreen along with the infotainment system which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

All models of the new Civic will feature automatic climate control, automatic up/down front windows and standard rear view camera.  The EX versions and above will also feature remote start. An additional electronic parking brake saves space, reduces effort and adds more oomph to the car. Moreover, this adds so much of storage room between the two seats in front that multiple iPads can be accommodated in the configurable console.

While the USB port is fixed at a very low and inconvenient position, cup-holders, trays and cubbies are ample and conveniently located. The EX-L comes with a power driver seat, the EX-T and above models come with heated seats and the Touring model also gets heated rear seats.

Although the first type to be rolled out is the sedan, two others would also join the 2016 Honda Civic lineup including a 5-door hatchback and a coupe. The coupe is expected to be launched in winter while the hatchback a year later. The expected price range would be between $18,640 and $26,500.

2016 Honda Civic is Going to Revoke Design Factors from Si

Creating the next gen car is a difficult task for the designers because they have the crucial task to satisfy their audience.

In order to make the 2016 Honda Civic stand out from the rest, they are going to borrow some design factors from the previously launched Si Civic variant.

Buyers who have had the chance to drive the Civic in the past will be familiar with the new offering. The news is nearly official, according to which designers will be using some of the elements from the Civic Si, which belong to the ninth generation model. Honda has decided to bring things from the past because they believe that in order to appease buyers in North America, a sense of familiarity is mandatory. Besides, it keeps the risk levels under control when a tried and tested design is rehashed with new tweaks to make it look stylish and next gen.

The exterior of the upcoming 2016 Honda Civic is expected to be extremely sharp and seamless with taillights connected to the grille in a unique manner. Similarly, the interior of the car will also be modified accordingly so that there are no unwanted gaps or obstacles in the design. Seamless uni-body finish is what automobile manufacturers rely upon and the same will be used in the upcoming Civic as well.

An update from the Consumer Report confirmed that Honda is also planning to upgrade the construction materials to aluminum and fiber. These two the most preferred materials which are exceptionally lightweight, easy to integrate into varied designs yet sturdy enough to provide stability for the car at its top speed. A pass-through center console will be used in the car. It will be powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine while the high line trim variant of the sedan will be equipped with a much better engine capacity.

Additional versions like Android Auto and Apple Car Play are expected to be found in all variants of the cars, enabling the drivers to easily control the console besides allowing them to enjoy the best of entertainment on the go. We have also had the opportunity to look at some of the spy shots of the 2016 Honda Civic. It confirmed that the vehicle is not going to undergo any major changes before its launch, but it’s the subtle design elements borrowed from the Si that’s going to make a huge difference when it gets launched.

Acura ILX Sales Expected to Remain Undeterred Despite 2016 Honda Civic Revamp

Earlier, it was claimed that the 2016 Honda Civic has all the possible features to beat and affect the sales of 2016 Acura ILX sales. A similar claim has been made randomly by industry watchers who opined the Accord Touring may beat the Acura TLX.

While it may sound credible at one point, in reality, statistics clarify that the customers who love the Acura have hardly moved to a Honda car or truck. They are not only fond of the brand, but are so used to its features that they never prefer to move away from their comfort zone. In the direct comparison tests, it was evident that the Honda Civic from 2015 was a much better model, because it offered great performance on-road, had more room for the passengers and has multiple safety features, which ensured a ride like never before. However, we have other points to support why the Acura ILX is different.

In order to stay ahead of the competition, a brand new compact Acura ILX is all set to be revealed in 2016. The 2017 Acura will bring multiple new features included performance upgrades and safety standards to the table so that it could distinguish itself from a Civic or an Accord. Besides, the manufacturer has also expressed their desire to launch a 2.0 liter turbo version of the sedan in the near future so as to cater to their loyal customers.

A performance variant of the car based on the Civic Si is also being considered. If the performance coupe version is coming, it will most probably sport an automatic transmission system and not manual gears because drivers who have had an Acura for a long time are more used to the former than the latter. The next gen Acura ILX will sport powerful eight speed automatic transmission system.

The base price of the Acura ranges between $27,900 and $34,890. While the pricing is almost similar to the models offered by other manufacturers like Audi and BMW, it continues to amass support from the buyers unlike any other model. The sales volume is credited to its performance, fuel efficiency and comfort, which usually is a hit or miss with the other models, but not with Acura. The models have been consistent throughout history even though it never underwent any drastic design changes in the recent past.

With such a strong foundation and fan following, we can confidently claim that the 2016 Honda Civic may have little impact on the Acura ILX sales trend.

Honda Civic 2016 Model Creating Huge Flutter in the Global Compact Car Segment

The Honda Civic 2016 model, set to take on BMW and Audi compact sedans, is creating a huge flutter in the global compact car segment as it is estimated to be the most exciting entry from the Honda Civic stables.

Honda, through the launch of the all-new Honda Civic 2016 (the 10th generation), is intending to take the US compact car segment, which is estimated to sell over one million units annually, by storm. The car experts feel that the new Civic will change the way euro-auto-fans look at the Honda brand, especially after the lukewarm response that the earlier 9th generation received from both experts and fans.

The 2016 Honda Civic is expected to redefine the image of Honda and change the perception of global car owners and drivers with regard to Honda Civic. The new vehicle is also estimated to change the very future of the compact car segment of the world.

Honda Civic 2016 gives what it promises; there is nothing misleading about the visuals of the car. Visually the car features wheels, C-segment body integration, digital lighting design; components inspired by virtual wind tunnel and the sleek body aerodynamics, all promising to deliver an exhilarating and comfortable driving experience. The all-new Civic is exciting to view and equally exciting to drive.

The Honda Civic 2016 can definitely not be called the ultimate driving machine from the Honda stables; yet the company has taken its priced model to new and exciting heights. The car promises to deliver great driving comfort, quiet interiors, excellent visual appeal and superb ergonomics.

The new vehicle is creating a flutter, not only for its radical design but also for the fact that it features Honda’s first turbocharged gasoline engine in the US. The 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine (to be fitted in top specs) features the company’s proprietary i-VTEC variable valve timing system that is estimated to deliver an output of 173 horsepower. The entry level models would feature 2L i-VTEC 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine delivering 158 hp.

It is expected that the new Honda Civic 2016 will be available in nine different exterior paint options, including White Orchid Pearl, Taffeta White, Modern Steel Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Rallye Red, Burgundy Night Pearl, Cosmic Blue Metallic and Aegean Blue Metallic. The options for interior colors are expected to be ivory, gray or black.

2016 Toyota Prius vs. 2016 Honda Civic – New Cars Ready to Hit the Road, Which One is Best for You?

With 2016 just around the corner, fans across the world are looking forward to the release of new vehicles in the C-segment.

Known as the middle class family segment, the C-segment is the one that produces the most mass market vehicles. Two of those include the newly announced 2016 Honda Civic and the 2016 Toyota Prius. One of them is a plug-in vehicle, while the other is a standard diesel and gasoline vehicle. So how do they stack up?

Let’s start from the engine and powertrain options. The 2016 Honda Civic will reportedly feature two different options. The first one is the standard 2.0-liter engine with four cylinders with Honda’s signature “continuously variable transmission” or CTV automatic gearbox. The standard 2.0-liter engine will also be offered with a six speed manual transmission. The option is left to the driver. The second engine is the newly developed 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that is only available with an automatic transmission.

The 2016 Toyota Prius, on the other hand, will be offered with what Toyota calls a “greener” engine. Under the hood, the 2016 Prius features a 1.8-liter engine with internal combustion. Thanks to an Atkinson-style system of the engine, the 2016 Prius will offer better thermal efficiency of up to 40%. Toyota claims that the engine will make the Prius more efficient during specific conditions, but the company is not revealing the conditions.

On the technology side, the two cars offer different benefits for the driver and the passengers. The 2016 Honda Civic, for example, offers better interior technology with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay installed within the Display Audio System. With the features Honda claims that the passengers will feel pleasant when they are on a long drive. ON the other hand, the 2016 Toyota Prius offers all-wheel drive, something that gives the driver much better control when maneuvering the roads.

In terms of importance to the company, one can say that the 2016 Civic is more important to Honda than the 2016 Prius is to Toyota. The sales of the last generation Civic were dismal and Honda desperately needs the 2016 Honda Civic to be a success. On the other hand, Toyota has continuity on its side, as the previous version of the Prius was widely regarded as the best hybrid on the market. With that being said, Toyota will have to make sure that the 2016 Prius is also a success story. Luckily for Toyota, prospective buyers and fans are already hooked up on the concept of the Prius.

2016 Honda Civic – Five New Colors Available for the Exterior

After four years, the Japanese car maker Honda has finally revealed the 10th generation of its C-segment popular vehicle. The 2016 Honda Civic was announced just weeks ago and we are not getting some of the details about the popular hatchback.

For starters, we now finally have the full palette of colors for the exterior and the interior. And while the interior color choices are somewhat boring and predictable, the exterior brings more fun.

For the exterior of the 2016 Civic, Honda is offering nine paint colors, including five new. The carryovers are Taffeta White (which is limited only for the basic 2.0-liter model), Crystal Black Pearl, White Orchid Pearl and Modern Steel Metallic. All of these four colors are carryovers from the previous Civic sedan. Another carryover is the Rallye Red paint color for the exterior, which was previously seen on the two-door coupe version of the Civic.

As for the new additions to the color palette, we have the Aegean Blue Metallic that Honda borrowed from the Fit, as well as the Lunar Silver Metallic that was previously seen on the Honda Accord. The 2016 Honda Civic will also be available in Burgundy Night Pearl and Cosmic Blue Metallic. Aside from the Taffeta White, all other colors will be available for every trim of the 2016 Civic.

The exterior colors can be paired with an appropriate interior color, giving you lots of options to choose from. Interior colors of the 2016 Civic include black, ivory and gray.

The 2016 Honda Civic is the 10th generation of one of the most popular vehicles in the US and the world. And color options are not the only “new” aspect of the Civic. The Japanese car maker has also remade the design of the popular hatchback. Some of the design changes include addition of LED lights for the headlights, new chrome grille on the front, boomerang style taillights, as well as fastback style profile. All in all, the 2016 Honda Civic looks sportier and more dynamic than the previous, boring ninth generation.

Another innovation has been done in the engine section. The basic engine option is the 2.0-liter engine with four cylinders. However, Honda will also offer a new and innovative 1.5-liter gasoline engine with turbocharging.

Honda Civic in its New Avatar to be Unleashed across Europe in Early 2017: Acura NSX in 2016

The new Honda Civic in its new avatar will be unleashed across Europe in early 2017. The Japanese automotive giant aims to leverage on its new Civic hatchback version to raise its annual sales in Europe to 200, 000 units.

Additionally, Honda confirmed that it will launch the Acura NSX hybrid supercar in 2016.

The new 2017 model of the Honda Civic will be manufactured exclusively at its production plant in the UK. For this express purpose, Honda has invested €270 million in new processes and technologies taking the total investment on the UK site to €3 billion from 1985. That the new 5-door Honda Civic will be manufactured at the UK production plant is part of Honda’s strategy to make the UK factory a global production hub.

The Japanese car maker unveiled the 10th generation Honda Civic sedan in the US; the hatchback is expected to be imported from the UK once the production starts. Meanwhile, in the US, the Honda Civic sedan will feature a revamped 1.5L direct injected turbocharged 4-cylinder engine coupled to a CVT with an estimated output of 173 hp. Another option for the US Honda Civic sedan is a 2L iVTEC 4-cylinder engine delivering an output of 159 hp.

The Acura NSX hybrid concept car transition from concept to production is one of the longest periods seen in the automotive history. The primary reason for the delay is an alteration in the layout of the engine, which happened halfway through the development process. While initially, Honda came out with naturally aspirated V6 engine, the automotive engineers chose a turbocharged engine later.

This change resulted in constructing a V6 engine (turbocharged) and shifting to longitudinal configuration, all of which apparently slowed down the development and production process. Now, it appears that Honda might be ready with the Acura NSX by spring 2016 though official announcements are yet to be made by the company.

While the auto manufacturer has not released any technical specs regarding the Acura NSX, the turbocharged V6 engines are estimated to deliver 550 horsepower. The engine would be coupled to a 9-speed auto transmission gearbox.

2016 Honda Civic is coming to Retail, Competes against Audi A3 and VW Golf

Honda has confirmed that the company will be rolling out their redesigned 2016 Civic to the dealers before the end of this year.

The sedan has been designed to give a tough competition to the likes of the Volkswagen Golf and the Audi A3.

The manufacturer did confirm that they are bringing the car to the consumers this fall and pre-orders may begin at least a month or so earlier. However, they didn’t confirm the official pricing of the vehicle which is expected to be only out by October. The Civic is one of the most popular models from Honda that has a strong patronage and is their best-selling sedan next to their Accord. With a compact size, affordable pricing and good fuel economy, it has always been a sedan that goes against models like the Toyota Corolla, Ford Focus and the Dodge Dart.

With a major overhaul, the 2016 Honda Civic is however designed to be much more sophisticated, boasts plenty of technological features and has the potential to compete against Europe’s top auto manufacturers.

In their official statement, Honda’s U.S. Vice President John Mendel said, “We are highly confident about the upcoming 10th generation Civic which is one of the most ambitious redesign we have ever done. With this launch, we aim to target a completely different strata of people and introduce our most popular model to people who may be interested in switching over to it, after going through what we have to offer”.

There are multiple variants to choose from in the Civic line-up. It’s not just a sedan but there is a coupe, the high performance, high speed Si models as well as the five door hatchback designed to accommodate an entire family. Above all, Honda is launching the first ever Civic Type-R to the U.S. market. If it succeeds, there might be more such launches in the near future.

The company has already revealed the Civic sedan this week and the other models in the line-up are expected to be showcased in the coming months. Two different engine variants will be used in the vehicles, including a 2.0 liter four cylinder engine with a six-speed manual transmission and a 1.5 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine.

The redesigned 2016 Honda Civic features a longer wheelbase with a wider body and has a fast back inspired tail. The manufacturer added that the body of the cars are at least 12 percent more aerodynamic and rigid than its previous models.

2016 Honda Civic – New Design, New Engine and Completely New Car

After a disappointing period from 2012 to 2016, Honda went back to the drawing board for the all new, 2016 Honda Civic. The previous version of the vehicle was criticized for lacking the “sizzle” that Honda has built a reputation on.

With that in mind, the company decided to completely redesign the Honda Civic and deliver a tenth generation of the popular sporty sedan.

Correcting the mistakes, Honda decided to use a new sheet metal for the exterior, giving the 2016 Civic an expressive profile.

Dimensions of the 2016 Civic don’t change much, as the sedan is two inches wider and has a 1.2 inches longer wheelbase. However, it is also lighter, as the sedan has shed 68 pounds. With the new dimensions, the sedan will offer more interior space and more legroom for the rear seats.

The new profile of the Civic features strong arches that go over the front wheels and a roofline that throws the current Civic out in the dust. The new roofline is almost fastback-like, giving the 2016 Civic that sporty, dynamic and aggressive look we grow accustomed to. Finishing the front is a new fascia with prominent chrome grille and LED headlights.

In the interior, Honda also has made several changes. Now with a new TFT display, Honda has clearly justified the promise they will bring much more technology and innovative thinking in the 2016 model. Aside from the TFT display, Honda leaves traditional gauges inside, but is finally getting rid of the multi-tiered dashboard that people hated in the previous version. Honda will play both sides and will allow both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto inside the Civic. The central touchscreen display is based on an Android OS, same as the new Pilot.

Under the hood, Honda is also making changes with bringing a new, 1.5-liter engine into the lineup. The 1.5 liter turbocharged engine features direct injection and is the first turbo engine by Honda for a US model. The engine will produce roughly 200hp in the highest trim. The second engine option is a 2.0-liter four cylinder engine that Honda says will produce the most power between base models. According to reports, the 2.0-liter engine might produce around 160hp for the base trimming model. All engines will be accompanied by either a manual or automatic gearbox.

Honda officials claim that the new 2016 Civic will be extremely fun to drive thanks to the changes in the interior and exterior, giving the car a sporty experience. However, we will have to wait and see whether the “most ambitious remake” of the Civic is actually worth the hype.

2016 Honda Civic is Ready for US Launch on September 16

Since the introduction of the Civic in 1972 for the US market, the small car has been one of the top selling cars on the market. Now, in its tenth generation, the 2016 Honda Civic looks to take over the market once again.

The new Civic will be introduced on September 16 during a special event on YouTube. There are several changes and promises with the 2016 Civic, starting from the new look that should be sportier, more dynamic, aggressive and youthful. Additionally, the 2016 Honda Civic is the first car for the US market by Honda that uses a turbo engine.

The completely new 10th generation of the Civic Sedan will be revealed live on YouTube, directly from the Space office in Los Angeles. The event is scheduled for September 16 at 6:15pm. The 2016 Honda Civic will be the first car that will be revealed from the YouTube Space in LA. The livestream will feature special appearances from the design team working on the 2016 Civic, as well as a special performance by the music band Night Riots, an alternative rock band.

The current Honda Civic has been a top selling compact car in the US since its introduction in 2012, but the company believes it is time for a change in the design to appeal to the young and dynamic generation.
Honda promises an infusion of sporty details in the design for all the models in the range. And while we cannot say for certainty how the new small sedan will look, we can be sure that it will draw inspiration from the green concept that Honda revealed a few months ago.

The lineup of the 2016 Civic will include a standard sedan vehicle, as well as a coupe and five-door hatchback. Honda expects to add a Si sporty variant and the Type-R performance car to the lineup sometimes in the future, but not immediately.

We do not know the engine power of the 2016 Civic, but we do know that the car will feature a 6-speed manual gearbox for transmission. The standard equipment will also include backup camera, EBS braking, ABS, touchscreen for personal connectivity and electronic ride stability. Prospective buyers can add CVT transmission as an optional package for higher trims.

The bottom line is simple, the 2016 Civic will offer much more than the current models in the entry level four door sedan market. Standard equipment is enhanced and with added performance, utility and design, you have a great value car for a price in the range of $19,000.
