The Nardo Grey color variant of the 2018 Audi TT-RS is under development and a picture of the car was posted online by a Reddit user.
The popular car houses some of the best components in the world and is an anticipated launch in the automobile industry. From earlier updates, it is known that the car delivers about 400 horsepower and is powered by a 2.5 TFSI inline 5-cylinder turbocharged engine. While these details were available in abundance, there was no word on the actual launch date. Even now, we can’t confirm the actual date but a launch window is known. The 2018 Audi TT-RS Nardo Grey is expected to be available in the month of March or by April, reports Audi World.
The source being an anonymous tipster it’s difficult to take it as an announcement from the company. However, the pictures posted on the Reddit forum by a user named KX321 seems to be legit and add strength to the recently floated rumor. Everything that you love about the Audi is found in this model right from the angular shapes to the aggressive front end and the overall look, much of which is borrowed from the RS7.
Mounted on 20-inch wheels supplied by Pirelli, this P-Zero ultra-low profile tires are beautifully camouflaged in the vehicle’s bodywork. They are controlled with carbon ceramic discs combined with 8-piston Brembo monobloc calipers and fixed spoiler. The rear end is equally impressive with carbon fiber diffuser and oval exhaust finishers that looks very much like the ones used on the RS5 model.
An important aspect that adds credibility to the picture of the 2018 Audi TT-RS Nardo Grey variant is that the car is spotted on a show floor. It’s not randomly shot on the road or camouflaged but is in full view. When the manufacturer showcases it fully, they are obviously getting ready to launch it in different regions and the United States could be one of them. The TT-RS showcase is probably from a dealer conference to finalize the deals before they hit stores and it does ad credibility to the March-April release.
The Reddit user has posted a bunch of pictures and all of them are of high quality giving us a detailed look on how the new TT-RS Audi car could look like. The components are of high end that adds much hype to the already popular car. We have no word on its pricing yet but we expect some updates close to launch date.
The latest version of the Audi A6 is ready to roll into the market by the year 2018. When it does, it is going to be quite sleek in appearance but being practical at the same time.
Inside sources claimed that the car is going to be high in terms of performance, styling and most importantly a slew of technical upgrades can be expected. Most expect a svelte interior while autonomous technology is definitely not out of the quotient. However, it might take some time before one can allow their cars to drive on its own as they rest in the backseat. Talks are on to introduce hybrid powertrains with the new Audi A6 but it is not going to be fully electric for the convenience of the passengers.
The next big auto expo is the Frankfurt motor show scheduled to take place in Germany next year. Audi might most probably pick the spot for their new A6 and to showcase the highlights of the car before prepping for the 2018 launch. Car enthusiasts opined that the A6 is going to be truly next gen in every respect, be it performance, power boost or the level of comfort it offers to its buyers.
Audi is already building a versatile platform specifically for the A6 sedan and other cars in the series. It is expected to be highly versatile with enough space for the company to mount their batteries in the hybrid models. On-board technology will include a host of safety features to ensure a safe travel along with connectivity add-ons. There could be more new additions which Audi cannot confirm at the moment due to lack of apps and new announcements which will be decided close to launch.
Instead of focusing on creating the same models over and over again, the automobile manufacturer has decided to adopt a new strategy which will enable them to create a distinct identity for each one of their models. The front fascia of the car features the proprietary day time running lights found in most Audi cars. The new A6 will derive a lot of design terms from the original Audi A8. However, designers are keen to make it look distinct and give a whole new feel so that it can be carried out in all future versions.
The wait is long as the Frankfurt motor show doesn’t take place for another year but it could be exciting when the time finally arrives.
The Formula 1 race is more about cars and car manufacturers than the race drivers who drive those vehicles to victory. It has rendered the right platform for the best car makers in the world to showcase their prowess and no wonder German manufacturers dominate the scenario for decades now.
Many decades ago, Mercedes Benz and BMW took their first step into the world of racing. Ever since their first season, Mercedes enjoyed continuous success for a couple of years, while BMW retired to being the engine maker for Williams and Sauber. According to a report by Automobile magazine, it looks like the racing bug has bitten Audi as well.
The company is busy signing papers to create their own Formula 1 team and participate in the races in the 2018 season. While the news comes from unidentified sources who work in the company, it does look legit. The person who shared the news added that if Audi was ever going to step into racing, they don’t have to worry about costs. The funding will be taken care of by an entrepreneur who hails from the Middle East which will ensure that the company focuses on creating the best vehicles to win the races for them.
Red Bull is the most popular brand in the Formula One scenario and Audi has already planned to rope them in to work on their behalf. The team is exceptionally professional and highly trained at what they do. They have a strong fan following, has uber class infrastructure and a proven track record. Besides, Red Bull are the official sponsors of the Audi at the DTM German racing series which makes the collaboration much easier.
In other news, Audi’s parent company Volkswagen is expected to face a huge loss, probably in billions, for failing to comply with the emission rules imposed by the U.S. and European regulators. While VW has the capacity to spring back to action with a year or so, it is definitely going to take a lion’s share off their profit. The parent company may feel good about the fact that Audi is going to participate in the Formula 1 racing league because it is an uplifting news in critical times as these.
Audi will definitely face some of the best automobiles at Formula One including the likes of Ferrari, McLaren, BMW and Mercedes Benz. It is not easy to win in such fierce competition, but with the right team in hand; the company may have an upper edge when it comes to experiencing a successful first season.
Audi showcased the E-tron Quattro, the large electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) concept car that is expected to be due in the market in 2018. The new E-tron Quattro, to be powered by a 95 kWH battery pack, is expected to deliver a driving range of 310 miles.
The new concept electric SUV is designed with a low roofline and appears more like a wagon rather than an SUV. However, this aerodynamic design is intended to optimize driving range from the power supplied by the electric system of the vehicle.
The E-tron Quattro features a 95 kWH battery which promises a driving range of 310 miles. The battery pack is fitted under the passenger seats deliberately, in an effort to lower the center of gravity. The battery set supplies power to three different motors, one each for the two rear wheels and one for the front wheels.
This alignment enables the drive system to put extra torque on the outside wheel, thereby pushing the back end and counteracting understeer. This arrangement enhances the overall handling of the vehicle. The 4-wheel-steering accommodates for high-speed turns and low-speed maneuverability while an air suspension enhances driving comfort.
The Audi E-tron Quattro battery pack takes 50 minutes to charge from zero to full when charged at a Level 3 DC charging station. The company is also looking at wireless charging options wherein the vehicle could drive on its own to a wireless charging pad.
The sharper line design of the E-tron Quattro reflects a combination of last year’s Prologue concept and Audi Q7. The geometric grille, narrow-roof-tailed cabin and LED headlights have been taken from Prologue.
The E-tron Quattro concept SUV’s retracting door handles and replacement of rear view mirrors with camera pods on the front fenders that transfer images at the back onto a monitor inside the cabin are features that enhance the aerodynamics of the new vehicle. Additionally, these features, combined with the low-roof cabin bring the coefficient of drag to 0.25 which is better than any other SUV in the market.
The concept car features an LCD on the instrument cluster, an idea borrowed from the company’s Virtual Cockpit driver interface. An LCD on the dashboard allows passengers view entertainment options while a smaller monitor at the console’s base enables the driver to set functions such as climate controls.
Car manufacturers have increasingly started focusing on launching self-driving and electronic cars to revive the decreasing automotive sales.
While technology has rapidly grown in the past few decades, the world of automobiles continues to rely on old school methods, including conventional gas and gears system. In an attempt to change it, Audi is all set to contribute its share by launching a new car named the Q6. However, the buyers may not be able to purchase it until 2018 because the company has confirmed that it is still in its early development phase.
The Audi Q6 Concept is a possible Tesla Model X competitor as it shares a lot of features besides being a hybrid vehicle, similar to the one announced by the latter. The vehicle may be named as the Q6 e-tron before launch, because it is a semi-electric vehicle that will be powered by a rechargeable battery and will also run on hydrogen fuel.
Creating a vehicle that runs on hydrogen is an impossible feat at the moment, but Audi opines that in the next three years, the scenario will change which will allow them to bring such innovative ideas to the consumer market without difficulty. The hybrid vehicle will feature a plug-in model for easy charging and may also sport a fuel tank so that the buyers don’t have to worry about running out of power in the middle of nowhere.
People believe that electric cars don’t deliver the expected top speed which Audi aims to debunk with a hunkered down body combined with short overhangs. The vehicle will be equipped with advanced aerodynamics features which will allow it to deliver the best top speed an electric car could deliver and be resource efficient at the same time.
The luxury car manufacturer has clearly specified that the Q6 is going to be an electric crossover, which is much easier for buyers to adopt than going fully electric. The consumers are not ready for it yet, because of the lack of support for electric cars in most countries.
A powertrain from R8 e-tron supercar powers the Q6, which is capable of delivering a non-stop ride up to 310 miles. A 92 kWh lithium ion battery powers the vehicle. More information about the upcoming Audi hybrid electric crossover car is expected to be revealed at the Frankfurt auto show. Meanwhile, you can take a look at the concept art images which got leaked much earlier.
