2017 Cadillac ATS, CTS Models Receive Exclusive White Edition In Japan

2017 Cadillac CTS

Cadillac is a known model in the U.S. but it is yet to expand its horizons in other countries.

In an attempt to popularize the brand, the automaker has launched the 2017 Cadillac ATS and CTS variants with an exclusive white colored variant for buyers in Japan.

As thename suggests, the White Edition is all about aesthetic changes and there are no modifications done in the powertrain. The Crystal White Turi Court Paint is the base color that is being offered on the 2017 Cadillac ATS, CTS which has been duly contrasted with 19-inch wheels. All the three variants being offered in Japan includes leather package combined with an electric sunroof.

If you are going to go for an ATS sedan or coupe variant, get ready to be immersed in premium interiors. The inside of the car will have Jet Black dashboard with light platinum finish. It is highly contrasting when compared to white exterior finish. The CTS variant uses a Kona Brown inside while the other model offered by Cadillac has Sapele wood trim.

Irrespective of the trimline you choose for the 2017 Cadillac ATS, CTS, the powertrain remains exactly the same. The car is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It uses a rear wheel drive system in the ATS variant while the CTS has an all-wheel drive. Only 20 such cars will be sold in Japan.

The auto manufacturer has not confirmed whether they will go with a numbering system for each car. Most limited edition models use a number badge that lets others know whether you have purchased the first or the tenth car in the series. It is a feature that is loved by car enthusiasts and special edition model collectors. The 2017 Cadillac ATS White Edition will be priced at $57,300 while the CTS White Edition is priced at $78,400.

Not all of them loves white and for those who love to go for something different, the auto brand offers a Sable Black option. The exact same cars will not be launched in the US or European region because they have been specifically designed for Japan. The powertrain, features and performance remains the same.

Both the ATS and CTS models are available with similar specifications in case you don’t live in Japan but like to experience what Cadillac has to offer with their cars. The 2017 edition is going strong for now with newer models coming in the near future.

Cadillac Boss Confirms Upcoming Flagship Model Is Not A Four Door Sedan

Cadillac is building its big flagship model but the car is not going to be a four door sedan, confirmed the company’s boss Johan de Nysschen.

Nysschen is known for his outspoken nature and he has made some open announcements in the past before Cadillac executives could come up with their press releases. Some of them have been like the one related to this flagship model while others sometimes become an open call to their competitors. He made a post in Facebook about a year ago explaining how good the Cadillac V series models are.

The Cadillac boss went on to claim that their upcoming cars are much better than what the Audi RS, Mercedes AMG or the BMW M Division offers. After a long break, he has come up with some interesting updates and has revealed future plans of the automobile brand. In an article, vice president of the company said that the flagship model was cancelled. Nysschen made a correction to the article saying that it was not cancelled but has been modified.

Instead of going for a Lux 5 sedan four door model, the company is going for something entirely new. While Johan de Nysschen didn’t openly confirm it, Cadillac has already debuted the Escala concept at Monterey car week. The five door model is rumored to be the future for the Cadillac brand. It is much bigger than a sedan and offers a range of features that a small car wouldn’t be able to compete with.

The design of the car could be based on the Chevrolet Corvette Zora. The auto brand’s boss confirmed that they have worked with the designers and the final plan for the flagship has been done. It has been submitted to the board for review and approval. Once they do so, the concept will be built and shown at an auto expo before the production version is ready.

It is too early to comment on the powertrain that will be used in the upcoming Cadillac flagship but it will definitely be top of the line, probably a refreshed V8 engine. The executive added that they have planned to expand with new energy applications. The idea of using a plug-in hybrid and an electric version is definitely not ruled out. The team is working on the possibility of using them while delivering the performance and torque that is expected of any flagship model.

Cadillac Is Going For A New Design With Escala Concept Car

The entire series of cars from Cadillac brand is about to undergo a major design change and it has been previewed in the new Escala concept car.

The Monterey car week is a favorite spot for auto manufacturers this month. They have been rolling out one model after another at the expo, showcasing their prowess and the features the team has come up with. The Cadillac Escala concept is no different even though it is not going to bring in radical changes like the Ciel or the Elmiraj. Launching the concept car, the company’s top executives commented that they are looking forward to implement this new change for all future cars.

“When people think of bold, sporty and courageous all at once, Cadillac symbolizes the idea. The brand has continued to make bold models throughout the years. But, like everything else, it is time to change and evolve into something new that is fit for the future. This is how the future of Cadillac is going to be,” announced Johan de Nysschen, the company’s president.

Describing the new design ushered in by the Escala concept, Nysschen said that it is the start of an era when the brand is about to move from hard, crisp wedge to something more organic and sporty muscularity. When we saw the concept model, it was bit difficult to understand how it describes being organic. However, the changes in overall design was evident and it looked a lot different when compared to the conventional Cadillac we are used to.

The proportions of the new platform have been highly modified so as to enable the same body depth and wheel height in all models. The proportions will remain the same irrespective of the model a buyer opts for. Vertical lighting has always defined the Cadillacs and the team has decided to keep it as it distinguishes them from their competitors.

At first look, the new Escala from Cadillac had a low and wide look which is achieved by sweeping horizontal elements used on the top. They create an optical illusion making the car look wider than it actually is, accentuating its bold looks further.

Escala was designed in a production design studio while the other two models, Elmiraj and Ciel were made in a concept studio. It signifies the fact that Cadillac is interested in making the Escala concept the benchmark car for every other future models to come.

Cadillac Is All Set To Launch Futuristic Interior Concept At Pebble Beach

Pushing the futuristic design further, Cadillac is all set to launch a new interior concept at the Pebble Beach event.

Almost all major brands in the automobile world have come up with next gen interiors of their own. Mercedes has expanded theirs with new wide-screen cockpit in their E-class model while Audi has the extremely impressive virtual cockpit. The automobile brands are quite proud of their creations and are looking forward to implement them in all their future models. Close in the lines, Cadillac is going to revamp and launch their first ever dash concept at the Pebble Beach expo.

Cadillac has partnered with LG to overhaul their dashboard and integrate some new tech features into it. Inside sources suggest that the company will use high-resolution OLED display to control the infotainment system. The large screen, probably 8-inches or bigger will provide information on multiple segments including speed, distance covered, satellite navigation with routes and audio/video media content.

While the dashboard will be filled up to the brim with features, the designers have opted for a minimalistic feel to the rest of the car. Driver and the passengers onboard will now be able to sync their calendar app with the infotainment system. You will no longer miss any important meetings, trips planned as the media device will send customized alarms on the go.

The brand has adopted a new 3D graphics for the menu. It brings a new change because users are used to primitive design on their dashboard displays. For the first time, Cadillac is going to change it and make it look more stylish, on par with current generation smartphones and tablets. Besides, when it sports a touchscreen, the system should obviously display information in an easy-to-read manner with graphical representation.

A narrow spoked steering wheel is used in the latest generation Cadillac. The design brings back nostalgic emotions as it is inspired by the original models from the 1960s and the 70s. There is no word on the first model to use the dash concept design. We may know those details and much more when Cadillac brings their concept to the Pebble Beach event set to take place in California.

All major automakers are heading to the expo to showcase their best cars, concept models and technological improvements. The event has generated so much hype already and will probably be a car lover’s dream come true.

2016 Cadillac Boosts Fuel Efficiency in CTS and ATS Models with New Engine

Cadillac has replaced the 3.6-liter V6 engine in the CTS and ATS models with a new, more fuel efficient 3.6-liter V6 engine.

It might sound strange replacing the V6 engine with another V6 engine at first sight, but the company has made the move to make the sedans more fuel efficient.

The main difference in the new engine is fuel efficiency, as the new 2016 CTS and ATS models will get EPA combined rating of 24mpg, which is a 2mpg improvement of the rear-wheel model. The all-wheel drive model also got boosted, with EPA rating now at 22mpg, which is a 1mpg improvement over the existing version. It is a small, 9 percent improvement, but albeit a nice one. The new engine also offers 8% improvement in the carbon emission area.

Another big difference is power, as the new 3.6-liter V6 engine produce 335 ponies under the hood, a slight improvement over the 321 ponies of the current version. The new engine is borrowed from the 2016 CT6 luxury sedan that Cadillac introduced previously. The engine works in a different way, as it features a technology that can deactivate cylinders, resulting in a four cylinder engine work under lighter loads.

The 2016 Cadillac ATS and CTS models also got a new automatic start and stop button, as well as the improved eight-speed automatic gearbox. The start-stop button is now standard in the 2.0-liter model as well and the lower end models also received the eight speed automatic gearbox. Fans of the six speed manual will have to look for another model, as the eight-speed automatic is the only transmission option for the new CTS and ATS Cadillacs.

And while Cadillac improved the 3.6-liter V6 engines, experts believe that the 2.5-liter and 2.0-liter turbo engines will still attract more buyers due to their better fuel efficiency. And for those who want performance oriented car, the 6.20liter V8 or the supercharge CTS-V are better options.

Some minor updates to the technology aspect include the introduction of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to the dashboard. There are also new paint colors for the interior and exterior of the vehicle. The price for the updated CTS and ATS models is still unknown, but we can expect a slight raise from the current models. For comparison, the current 3.6-liter versions of the CTS model are priced as following: $53,285 for the luxury collection plus $2,000 for an all-wheel drive model and $58,285 for the performance collection with $2,000 increase for the AWD model.

2016 Cadillac CTS-V – Finally a Worthy Sedan Contender from Cadillac

The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V is just one of the contenders for the “Performance car of the year” category for the 2016 World Car of the Year award.

And frankly, the Cadillac might be the best car in the category. Competing with the likes of BMW M5 and Mercedes AMG C-63 coupe, the 2016 CTS-V has worthy rivals.

But what separates the Cadillac from the German contenders is that the 2016 CTS-V offers much better and fun driving experience. Given the fact that the Cadillac is much heavier than its contenders, it is a big achievement for the performance sedan.

One way that Cadillac has improved the aerodynamics and driving experience is by shedding some weight off the 2016 CTS-V. Thanks to the new chassis, the 2016 CTS-V is much lighter, and with magnetorheological shock absorbers, the performance car delivers driving experience for the ages.

The first generation of the CTS-V was refreshing and different from what we were used to seeing from Cadillac. However, it is the second generation that takes things up a notch and skyrockets the CTS-V among the best luxury performance sedans in the world.

As for the driving experience, there are several modes that drivers can use. But according to several test drivers, the best way to experience the CTS-V is let Cadillac do its magic. Go with automatic and do not experiment much, as you will end up noticing that the standard automatic mode is the best. Test drivers and race drivers all agree that the driving experience is exciting, and unlike any other performance luxury sedan.

Now let’s get to the fun part or what makes this car so great. It does not boast of a perfectly designed exterior, though fans do agree that the front grille looks awesome and the zillion of tech commands inside the dashboard appear impressive. It is all about power and the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V has plenty of it. Still with the 640hp V8 engine under the hood, the 2016 CTS-V is a legitimate 200mph luxury performance sedan. In fact, the car is clocked at 201.8mph, something that the vehicle can produce, thanks to the 640hp engine. Sprint time to 60mph is 3.7 seconds, and you will rarely need something faster. There is no manual transmission, but really, with such car you do not need it. In fact, the 2016 CTS-V is ridiculously smart, braking and accelerating at just the right time.

And the best part is the price. How can a car so beautifully and stylishly designed, with so much power, start at just $83,000? It is a valid question, but fans around the world would surely embrace the low price of the luxury performance car.

2017 Cadillac XT5 – Evolutionary New Design and Platform Coming in 2017

Cadillac will launch the new XT5 as a 2017 model and will continue to use the SRX as a 2016 model. With that being said, what are the changes that fans can expect from the 2017 Cadillac XT5?

At first glance, the new SUV has the same size and proportions, but the changes to the design are quite radical.

The front grille is definitely changed, with new, sleeker and more stylish looking headlights. The design of the hood is also changed, with Cadillac adding a few dynamic and sharp lines to counter the previously looking flat design. The result is a more aggressive and sporty look of the new 2017 Cadillac XT. The side lines are also changed. The new line, going from the front wheels to the rear seats is now more straight than curved.

The design is evolutionary for Cadillac and results in a fine looking crossover. The knock is that the side profile could have been more creative, but Cadillac decided to opt for simplicity. Other designers, on the contrary, experiment with the side profile with creases, unusual volume and shaped curves and pronounced dips. You do not see those elements on the 2017 Cadillac XT5.

Inside, we do not know the changes that Cadillac will make into the 2017 XT5.

Powertrains are also vague at the moment, with Cadillac announcing that the 2017 XT5 will feature several four cylinder diesel turbocharged engines, as well as a naturally-aspirated engine. A turbocharged V6 engine is also in the works, but we do not know the power or volume of the engines. What we do know, however, is that the 2017 XT5 will use new nine-speed automatic transmission that Cadillac is developing in partnership with Ford.

The new SUV will be available with both front and all-wheel drive system, with the all-wheel-drive system being able to divert most, if not all torque to both the front and rear wheels.

The 2017 Cadillac XT5 will use the new platform that GM is developing, called the C1XX at the moment. The new platform is specially designed for midsize and full-size SUVs. The purpose is to reduce the weight, but increase the space inside and in the truck. The new platform should also be flexible, being able to adjust to different requirements by the driver. The new platform of the 2017 XT5 will offer both regular and long wheelbase configurations and support two and three row seating.

2016 Cadillac CTS V Delivers Breathtaking Performance and Ample Space than the CTS

The BMW M5 continued to be the unopposed player in the consumer market for a long time now. But, going by the looks and performance sheet of the newly unveiled 2016 Cadillac CTS V, it looks like a worthy competitor has finally arrived.

Cadillac is an amazing automobile manufacturer, but all their vehicles, despite being highly luxurious, didn’t appeal to a majority of the consumers, because they lacked the punch. The CTS is a reliable sedan for daily commuting, but the new CTS V belongs to a completely different league.

Powered by a 6.2-liter V8 supercharged engine, the vehicle offers one of the best performances in the luxury sedan category. It delivers a mammoth 640 horsepower, which should allow the drivers to participate in a race if they need to and has 630lb feet of torque. The numbers are far beyond the conventional cars because the engine and the technology that powers the 2016 Cadillac CTS V is the same that is used in the world class Corvette Zo6.

Despite its large finish and increased wheelbase, the manufacturers have managed to keep its weight under control. It enables the sedan to easily accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds. In comparison, the BMW M5, which is exceptionally close, does the same in 3.7 seconds. While it’s an insanely minute difference, car enthusiasts may choose to go for the new CTS V because it belongs to a different brand and offers a completely new driving experience when compared to the commonplace BMW M5.

Safety aspects are in the form of the 6 piston Brembo brakes for the front wheels while 4 piston Brembo brakes power the rear wheels. Michelin pilot support sport tires offer reduced friction and increased control on the road irrespective of the speed at which the sedan is moving in. It has ride control shocks and four different driving modes.

You can choose to drive in touring, sport or race mode on dry roads while there is an option designed to make snow driving easy. The throttle, traction control, transmission and shock absorbers act differently based on the mode the 2016 Cadillac CTS V is in. The vehicle weighs over four thousand pounds and has a maximum speed of 200 mph.

It’s definitely not easy to drive it every day to office or find enough parking space in a busy shopping mall, but if you are looking for immense power on the road, the luxury sedan delivers it without missing a beat.

2017 Cadillac XT5 – Cadillac Taking an Unconventional Approach With Announcement of the New SUV

One thing is certain: the 2017 Cadillac XT5 is not your conventional and common SUV and the company has tried hard to maintain that image.

In order to be as unconventional as possible, Cadillac teamed with a clothing fashion company in order to showcase its new SUV.

Cadillac teamed up with Public School, a menswear company with which Cadillac has previously partnered. The goal is to tie men’s fashion to the Cadillac brand. The company showcased the 2017 XT5 during a fashion show in SoHo.

The new crossover will replace the existing SRX, and fans cannot be more hyped about the 2017 XT5. The new crossover from Cadillac will not just replace SRX as a model, but also offer a whole new nomenclature to the SUV segment of the company. The goal is to get into the market for luxury SUVs, and the XT5 certainly has the potential for such impact.

Just like the new CT6 sedan, Cadillac will use the new Chi platform by General Motors for the 2017 XT5. There is no word on specs and design, but according to the first spy photos and the teaser photos from a photoshoot in Manhattan a week ago, we can say for sure that the XT5 will keep some of the proportions we grow accustomed with the SRX. Additionally, the XT5 will get some of the sportier and more dynamic lines from the CTS and the CT6 sedan.

The new platform developed by GM should allow Cadillac to breakthrough into the three-row SUV market. The XT5 is not going to be that SUV, but fans can certainly expect a three-row crossover from the company in the near future.

As for the power of the 2017 XT5, we are certain that the same engines used for the CT6 will make their way to the SUV. The most popular might be the 3.6-liter V6 engine, which GM recently updated specially for the CT6.

True to its brand name, Cadillac has taken a different approach with the announcement of the 2017 XT 5. Unlike other manufacturers that are trying hard to get their new vehicle at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Cadillac will skip the biggest car event in the year. The goal for Cadillac is to showcase the new 2017 Cadillac XT5 during the motor show in Dubai, scheduled for November. According to the company, there will be fewer cars and journalists in Dubai, which will allow them to really represent their new flagship SUV. Cadillac will be the first luxury brand to have a world premiere of their vehicle in Dubai.

The XT5 goes on sale next year, sometimes during the spring months of March, April or May.
