Nissan Hosts On-Road Demonstration of Autonomous Car in Europe

Nissan Autonomous Car

Nissan hosted a special event in London demonstrating how their autonomous car would function in an on-road environment.

While the demo has been done in the United States and Japan earlier, this is the first time it is being conducted in Europe.

The idea that Nissan has is to create a zero emission, zero fatality automobile environment. The former is achieved by bringing in electric cars whereas autonomous driving is expected to reduce car accidents to zero. The next generation vehicles are equipped with Nissan Intelligent Mobility which houses multiple technologies into the car to achieve the end goal.

During the on-road testing of the autonomous car, the automobile company allowed rear seat passengers to experience how the future would look like. The car was equipped with multiple technologies including cameras, laser scanner, radar combined with Human Machine Interface. There were other components too which was not listed but they work together to make the vehicle extremely safe to be in. It’s autonomous capabilities works seamlessly both in heavy city traffic and during high speed long drives in urban roads. The passenger should enter their location and everything else will be taken care of until they reach the destination.

“By demonstrating the capabilities of Nissan Intelligent Mobility in London, we would like to iterate that the autonomous capabilities of the car is more than capable of handling the demanding conditions in the busy streets. Innovation and ingenuity are always the two factors we focus on. The latest things happening at Nissan are driven by the same idea which we will pursue to deliver what the future of automobility needs,” said Takao Asami, senior vice president at Research and Advanced Engineering at Nissan.

ProPILOT is the autonomous driving technology Nissan has introduced which is already available in latest generation vehicles like the LEAF and the Qashqai. They are capable of offering single lane autonomous driving but the current version requires a driver to be seated at all times and need human interaction. However, the future models will overcome these hassles and needs specific laws before autonomous driving could be fully implemented around the world.

Multi-lane autonomous vehicles are under production with an expected release date in 2018 whereas the ones that could handle all types of roads and traffic will be out by 2020. Nissan is not the only company eyeing these improved features but all other top manufacturers have their own self-driving cars ready to hit stores in the near future.

Renault and Nissan Partnership Witness Increased Sales in EV Sector in 2016

Pushing the boundaries forward, Renault in partnership with Nissan has set record number of sales which is a significant growth for the brands.

The manufacturers have collectively sold close to 425,000 electric vehicles in the past few years.

The brands are committed to bringing the best to their customers and to make the Earth more eco-friendly. Electric cars are seen as the next plausible step in making sure people don’t pollute the planet further. Nissan LEAF, the electric car which was launched in 2010 and Renault’s own ZOE contributed a major share to the total of 425k EVs sold since 2010. Global sales of all types of vehicles is much higher as the partnership has sold nearly 9.96 million vehicles.

“We are proud of this collaboration where the big brands – Groupe Renault, Mitsubishi Motors and Nissan Motors are coming together with a common objective. The innovative partnership didn’t start recently but dates way back into the past, about 18 years ago. Throughout the period, we have made ourselves more competent and adopting new technologies so that we can build the vehicle of the future together,” commented CEO Carlos Ghosn.

Named as the Alliance brand, the trio has their brand in one of the nine cars sold worldwide in 2016. Renault and its sub brand Dacia continues to have a stronghold in the market. They continue to sell much higher vehicles every year that the brand has managed to become the number two manufacturer in Europe. Nissan is focusing on an entirely different region. The brand has sold the most number of cars and trucks in USA, China. Their growth is at least 2.5 percent higher in 2016 when compared to previous years.

Mitsubishi motors is not going on a strong run individually but the Alliance partnership allows them to keep themselves ahead of the competition. They had decent sales in USA, Australia but their strong customer base in the Middle East, Russia and Brazil is declining due to the fuel consumption problem.

Nissan and Renault holds a huge record, as the Nissan Leaf has sold over 250,000 units since its launch in 2010. It is world’s top selling electric vehicle. Coming close next is the e-NV200 which is a light commercial vehicle sold by Nissan in Europe and Japan. Renault has sold 112,000 electrical cars around the world. They have a lineup of EVs including ZOE, Kangoo ZE, Fluence ZE, SM3 ZE and Twizy.

The trio as part of the Alliance partnership plans to launch about 10 new models with autonomous functionality by 2020.

Renault-Nissan Planning to Bring $8,000 Electric Car in China

If Renault, Nissan partnership can successfully pull off this feat by launching a sub $8,000 electric car in China, they would have set a benchmark like no other for the entire automobile industry.

Ushering in a new era of electric cars, Tesla made people adopt this brand new technology but with a premium price tag. When the Model S sedan was launched, the entire industry was still obsessed with gasoline powered models. However, things have drastically changed in the past three years and by now every auto manufacturer have at least one hybrid model while top players have all-electric cars with low to mediocre mile range.

Pricing has so far been on the higher side and those who were not willing to pay the cost would have to settle with a car that runs for 50 miles or so before it switches to a petrol engine. Chevrolet Bolt and Nissan Leaf changed the perspective to a great extent by offering great mile range at nearly affordable prices. They are yet to be adopted on a massive scale and the future looks bright. The same cannot be said about EVs in the Asian market. Countries like China where population abounds is not ready for the change yet.

Nissan’s Leaf which is being sold at around $36,900 witnessed below average sales. The car sold 1,273 units last year which is something the auto brand is hardly proud of. In an attempt to break the barriers, the Nissan-Renault duo acquired a strong 34 percent share in Mitsubishi motors and is foraying into the Chinese market. To make the entry matter, the brands joined together and announced they like to sell a car priced somewhere between $7,000 to $8,000 without incentives.

Carlos Ghosn, head of the joint collaboration made the announcement and added that if they manage to pull it off, it could be a ground breaking feat for the industry. It might take another two to three years before this ultra-cheap electric car gets launched in China. Ghosn didn’t specify whether it is an all-electric model or a powerful hybrid variant but going by the tone, we can safely assume that an EV is what matters by 2020 when every brand would have adopted the technology by then.

With the US, UK and European markets saturated to the brim, auto companies have already shifted their attention to the East where most countries have hardly any idea about eco-friendly cars. The only way to reach these densely populated regions is to keep costs low and offer impressive mile range on their EVs.

Nissan Debuts Range Extender Hybrid System Named e-Power

Adopting all-electric technology has become a need of the hour. At the same time, automobile manufacturers are finding ways to create unique hybrid systems.

The Nissan range extended hybrid system named the e-Power is a good example.

The concept car was first released to the mainstream buyers in Europe. Named the Nissan Note, it uses the range extender system where a petrol engine will be used to recharge the battery so that the electric motor can travel really long distances without requiring a charge point. Bigger batteries are obviously the next big step in the design but this concept idea that did prove to be a decent entry in Europe is good for starters. Note will be discontinued in Europe and probably become an exclusive version for the Japanese audience.

The e-Power range extender hybrid setup will continue to move forward and this time, the brand has planned to incorporate it in the Nissan Micra Supermini. Being one of the most successful supermini models that is a favorite about buyers, it has the potential to bring the hybrid system to buyers and witness some great adoption rate. A major upgrade in this new hybrid is that it uses only an electric motor to keep the car going whereas the petrol engine will be connected to the battery and solely used to charge them on the go.

Discussing its fuel efficiency capability, Nissan confirmed that the range extender hybrid will offer efficiency which is on par with most hybrid cars already available in the market. The company didn’t reveal technical information about the petrol engine they use to charge batteries. However, they did release an image showing a compact image which you can see here. The e-Power is one among many research projects undergoing at the Nissan lab. The brand is working hard to come up with alternative fuels and power sources. Most companies follow the path pioneered by Tesla but they do come up with their own solutions as well.

Electric cars are witnessing fast adoption rates but at the same time ways to charge the cars on the go is a dire necessity. Tesla has come up with solar roof panels which will be integrated in their Model 3 so that it could use the heat to keep the batteries running and Nissan’s hybrid option is another viable alternative. But, it is fully relying on gasoline and people may have to find a gas station on their way before the battery pack runs out.

The 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid – The Much-Awaited Fuel-Stingy SUV With Loads Of Cargo Space

Nissan had recently announced its new model of SUV, the 2017 Rogue Hybrid.

The model should be out to the public by end of 2016. The Rogue Hybrid SL SUV comes with a choice of the power train, which is a lot more fuel-stingy. The Rogue Hybrid is more competent than what is expected from a cross-over compact vehicle. It is one of the much-awaited additions to the Nissan line-up.

The 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid is the first cross-over model to join the line-up with a hybrid powerhouse for a small SUV.  The SUV offers fresh and updated interior and exteriors styling. The new vehicle also arrives with new driving aid technology, wide range of standard and optional convenience, comfort and utility features, and new additional security and safety features.

Interior Details

The first thing that is noticeable upon entering the 2017 Rogue Hybrid is the completely redesigned front center console which comes with new trim finishers, a new sports mode shifter with a leather boot, and the D-shaped steering wheel. The cabin is almond-colored by default and is accented by dark colored attractive trim pieces. The interiors are abundantly covered in soft-touch materials, with heated front seats and heated steering wheel, which will be of great use for the upcoming winter season. There are memory seats which self-adjust every time the passenger steps inside the cabin. One major drawback which the driver might face while driving may be reaching out to the transmission mode and switches for power lift gate and for the heated steering mode that are located under the steering wheel on the left side.

The customer favorite features include the roomy backseat with more legroom and the panoramic sunroof. The new Rogue Hybrid comes with more visibility on the sides and at the back. There is a lot of cargo and passenger flexibility available with the newly innovated Divide-N-Hide Cargo system and the EZ Flex Seating System. If the passengers need to add more cargo, then the rear seats can be easily folded flat with just a pull of the handle that is present on the top of the rear seat. The Hybrid SUV comes with 3-row 7-seater capacity. The hybrid’s battery that is placed under the cargo area, offers 61.4 cu.ft behind the first row and 27.3 cubes behind the 2nd row.

Under the Hood

The heart of the 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid SUV powerhouse comes with an inline 4-cylinder engine with a capacity of 2.0 liters that is coupled along with a single-motor, two-clutch control, and a compact lithium-ion battery. The gasoline engine produces a power of 141 hp and a torque of 144 lb.ft, while the 30 kW electric motor generates 40 hp of power and a torque of 118 lb.ft. The net power of the hybrid’s engine system is 176 hp. There is a Xtronic transmission with manual gearshifts and switches for the Standard Sport and for Eco mode, which send power to all the four wheels.

The fuel economy for the hybrid is projected to be 31 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway and a combined 33 mpg (FWD), while the standard Rogue is estimated to have a mileage of 26 mpg for the city and 33 mpg on the highway and a combined 29 mpg.

Other Features and Options

The 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid comes with two driving configurations namely the front-wheel and the all-wheel drive forms. The standard features include the leather-wrapped seats, 6-way powered driver’s seat, heated front seats and steering wheel, top navigation technology with a 7-inch touch-enabled color display screen. Nissan’s native safety features that include the rear cross traffic alert systems and the blind-spot warning come as standard. The other standard features include the Bose premium 9-speaker audio system, heated outside mirrors, push-button start, rear lift gate that can motion activated, 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, and a remote engine braking system. There is also an optional available forward emergency braking system and a power panoramic sunroof.

Dynamics of Driving the Rogue Hybrid

With the performance of a gas-powered SUV, the Rogue Hybrid comes with improved acceleration due to the instant torque produced by the electric motor and a lot of power generated from the gas-only mode while driving in the city. The hybrid system shines with the stop-and-go traffic feature in the electric mode and it also saves fuel. With an efficient powertrain, the wind noise will be kept to a minimum even at top speeds while driving on a highway.

With a standard 18-inch alloy wheels, the Hybrid SUV offers a smooth, comfortable and a fuel-efficient firm ride with all the power required for different driving situations. The SUV with an upscale look comes with user-friendly technology options and an all-weather comfort capability apart from being fuel-stingy. With the Eco mode, the SUV focuses on extra fuel-efficiency, while with the Xtronic CVT transmission mode which has a Sports mode converts the SUV to an automatic conventional vehicle to push hard up on the mountain roads.

The 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid SUV, which is a reliable family commuter with plenty of cargo and passenger space with seating flexibility, comes at around $ 35,000 for the fully loaded version, which is way up against the $ 34,970 of the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and the $32,250 of the gas-powered SL AWD.

Next Gen Skoda Fabia SUV is Coming to Compete with Nissan Juke

The auto brand has confirmed that they are going to go with a production version of the Skoda Fabia SUV.

It will be a direct competitor for the Nissan Juke when it gets officially launched.

Revealing more information about the next generation SUV, the company’s executives commented that the Fabia will be a practical choice for buyers who like their cars to be spacious, fuel efficient and packed to the brim with features to make travelling fun. When it hits dealership stores, the SUV will compete with Juke from Nissan and the C4 Cactus by Citroen.

A bunch of exclusive images were released online giving car enthusiasts a vague idea of how the upcoming model would look like. A couple of weeks ago, the firm launched a teaser sketch of the concept car. The firm’s board member recently commented that the project is well under way. Skoda can no longer ignore the small crossover SUV market and are interested in creating something worthwhile following the Yeti and the Kodiaq.

Skoda from the Volkswagen family is about to bring a small SUV Fabia which will have tough competition when it gets launched. SEAT confirmed during the recent Paris motor show that they are about to launch a new model named the Arona. It is slated to get launched before the end of 2017.

Customers who are interested in buying small SUVs often complain that they don’t offer any practicality in terms of space and are very similar to superminis. Addressing the issue, the next gen Skoda Fabia is expected to be slightly larger in size. It might even undergo a name change before the official launch. The team considered registering two names including Airon and Aratan.

Based on the information gathered so far, the upcoming SUV will be longer and wider in appearance. Instead of trying to deliver a beefed up version of the supermini, the design engineers are doing their best to come up with a brand new model that stands apart in terms of style, practicality and sets a new benchmark for other cars in the segment.

The upcoming car could be constructed on top of the MQB platform and use some of the older components to keep the pricing under control. The team also added that they will be working closely with other brands to bring in their technologies to the Volkswagen group. A creative approach paved way for the successful Yeti and VW group aims to recreate the same.

Nissan GT-R Nismo is Expected to Cost £149,995 at Launch

With brand new upgrades, the Nissan GT-R Nismo is ready to arrive at stores and the pricing of the model is expected to be at £149,995 at launch.

The auto brand has confirmed that buyers will be able to purchase this faster version of the GT-R from November 1st onwards. The new model is expensive when compared to its immediate competition, the Porsche 911 Turbo S priced at £145,773.

Some of the prominent changes that can be spotted in the next gen model includes a revamped front grille, upgraded shock absorbers, springs and some modifications done to the body that offers a better driving experience. Nissan added that with the added downforce provided by these overhauled components, the car offers complete control to the driver irrespective of the speed they are driving in.

The corner performance of the Nissan GT-R Nismo and its slalom times are improved by 2 percent. The settings are fully customizable with the help of an adaptive damper system. Under the hood, the Nismo is still powered by the same 3.8-liter twin turbo V6 engine capable of producing a solid 592 horsepower coupled with 652 Nm of torque. It is mated to a six speed dual clutch automatic gearbox system. For generating the best performance out of the same engine, it has been designed from the scratch by a group of engineers and Nissan claims it has been hand built by trained technicians in the team.

Acceleration capacity of the car is that it can go from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 2.5 seconds. The top speed is pegged at 200 miles per hour. A host of upgrades can be found in the car, both on the inside and the outside. The dashboard has been redesigned to be easier to access with a better steering wheel and there’s also a center armrest for better comfort.

The seats are wrapped over with Alcantara leather seats that adds a sense of sophistication to the car. A large 8-inch touchscreen display is part of the dashboard which allows the passengers to use the infotainment system, control media and know some basic information while on the move. The button layout has been slightly modified so that you don’t have to use the touchscreen all the time. The car has Recaro sports seats lined with red inserts to justify the price tag and give it the coveted sports car appearance.

Nissan’s Leaf is Not the Only Electric Car, New One Under Development

Nissan is showing keen interest in the electric car segment and the Leaf is one of their prominent models.

But, it’s not going to end there because they have already planned to add another one to sit below the Leaf in their lineup.

The new model is expected to be in the size of a Ford Fiesta. Nissan has experienced great success with their Leaf which has already sold over 200,000 models since it got launched in the year 2010. The automobile brand is now ready to follow up with a successor to the electric car but they might probably make it smaller and compact so as to make it appealing to a new strata of buyers.

The upcoming car could be a five door model. The rumors emerge from the fact that Nissan has been making a lot of changes and all of them indicate towards an electrified future. The brand is not interested in simply making the Leaf their only car. Instead, they are going to bring multiple cars that rely on electric motors.

Talking about the company’s future plans, Gareth Dunsmore, Nissan’s EV program head said, “The first EV cars were more for the early adopters and then came the second and the third wave of models. The segment is slowly changing and Europe has already accepted electric cars in all areas including wagons, hatchback and crossover models.”

The upcoming EV crossover is supposed to be based on the Nissan Leaf with minor changes done to the B0 architecture. It is being used in the Nissan Juke crossover and the new car, even though smaller will have a higher ride height. The ground clearance should allow it to be an ideal family car for all types of road conditions and long trips. Other specifications of the model is not known at the moment.

Executive vice president of Nissan commented that the entire brand is committed to making EVs a prominent part of their lineup. “We are really interested in adding more models to the lineup and expand it further. When we do, it will be focused on the customer friendly wagons because sports cars aren’t something that interests the team as a whole. The basic requirements and setup of such models are completely different. Experimenting with them using electric motors and batteries doesn’t contribute much to the industry as a whole which is why the follow up models will be similar to Leaf,” he said.

Pathfinder SV brings automatic headlights, rear parking sensor, power adjustable driver seat and leather wrapped steering wheel to the table. The Nissan Pathfinder SL which is priced much higher than the SV trim line adds leather finish to all seats, adds power adjustment capability to front passenger seat, heated steering wheel, front seats and blind spot monitor. The model uses motion activated power liftgate.

Providing multiple models of the same car is a must for every automaker to appease buyers from every category. The most elite of them all can go for the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum priced at $42,770. The top of the line model has BOSE surround audio system, LED headlights, heating and cooling capabilities for the front seat, larger 20-inch wheels with power adjustable steering wheel and a dedicated forward collision prevent system for additional safety.

Nissan has announced pricing and features of the wagon just days before its official launch making it easier for buyers to make an informed decision before they go for it.

Nissan Micra May Need Another Ten Years To Get Propilot Autonomous Tech

Bringing a luxurious feature like Propilot autonomous technology to the lowest car in the bracket might take time.

Nissan Micra, the entry level car from the auto brand will receive the feature in another years, by 2026.

Balancing cost and delivering the latest technologies to the average customer is a tough task. Automobile manufacturers usually segregate the segment by providing entry level cheap cars and reserving the top end components for the top of the trimline variants. However, the same cannot be done for the electrified motors or the self-driving technology. They are supposed to be rolled out to the masses so that brands can make a profit out of it.

Stewart Callegari, head of Nissan said that the propilot autonomous technology is coming to the high end 2017 Qashqai. While it is easy to incorporate it on the pricier models, it will take a decade for the same to be rolled out to the Micra. The model which is priced much lower when compared to the Qashqai will receive the same kind of tech in the year 2026.

“The present situation of the B-segment is very constrained. It might take some time for us to bring something like the Propilot to the segment. The manual gearbox models in the segment are predominantly purchased by price conscious buyers. It is entirely driven by the price tag which will change in time. It is when we can roll out something futuristic in cars like the Micra,” said Callegari.

Multiple functions can be handled by the Propilot feature in Nissan models. The autonomous system can control the position of the car’s steering and manage the brakes without any human intervention. It can automatically adjust the speed of the vehicle and apply brake at the right moment based on the type of the road. Multi-lane function will be added to the setup by the year 2018.

Despite the rise of autonomous technology, top engineers at Nissan is keen on retaining driver interaction in higher end models. They believe that customers want to be in control of the car to experience it to the core. At the same time, Nissan has been working on autonomous tech since 1990 and it enables them to quickly adapt to the changing times to offer the same to people who prefer to simply relax until they reach their destination, Callegari added.

Nissan’s New Car Powered By Biofuel Hits Brazil Roads

Nissan has developed a brand new prototype model which no longer relies on petrol or batteries but rather runs on biofuel.

The unique experimental model was launched in Brazil today.

In their statement, the company commented that their idea is to help people who have better access to corn or sugar cane. Petroleum is usually tough to acquire in these regions where the Solid Oxide Fuel Cell invented by Nissan will play a crucial role in transportation. The idea is not totally new as auto brands including Honda, Toyota and Hyundai are experimenting it with their Clarity, Mirai and Tucson cars respectively.

The biggest change is that instead of platinum catalysts to convert hydrogen and air into electricity, Nissan uses ceramic materials. They are inexpensive, easy to integrate and will allow people to actually buy SOFC powered automobiles. It would be a cost and an energy efficient option for those living in specific countries where natural resources are plenty.

These cars will emit carbon and carbon mixed content which is strictly regulated in countries like USA and Europe. However, the situation is entirely different in third world countries where carbon rich reformation byproducts are usually monitored at low levels. Nissan is also working on ways to reduce carbon dioxide emission. It may take some time before the biofuel powered cars are perfectly clean to find their way into Europe where emission regulations are of high standards. It is one important reason that allowed an electric car maker like Tesla to succeed as EVs have no emission issues and are completely green.

The first prototype version from Nissan was unveiled in Brazil. The e-NV200 lightweight commercial van has a huge 7.9 gallon fuel tank. It uses SOFC 5 kW fuel technology but is also equipped with a 24 kWh battery connected to an electric motor. With such a unique setup, the van has an amazing mile range. It can go up to 375 miles when both different powertrains render their combined power.

Some unique aspects of the NV200 and the Nissan NV100 Leaf is that they are both cost efficient, has good acceleration, low speed response and uses silent propulsion system. Nissan opines that Brazil has lot of natural Ethanol content to share which syncs with their biofuel program. It has prompted the company to launch the van in the country first before they identify more potential regions to launch the NV100 model.

Nissan BladeGlider Is Now Officially Riding In Brazil, Has New Drift Mode

An ambitious concept car back in 2013, the Nissan Bladeglider is now official and if we are to go by the company’s statement it is going to help passengers get from one area to another in Brazil.

Nissan is going to promote the model at the big Olympics games taking place in Rio. There is no better way to market a radical prototype like the Bladeglider than this spot where people from around the globe has gathered in one place. Compared to the sum they should spend in marketing, this seems like a much easier option and also might push the prototype into a full production version.

The Nissan Bladeglider about to make its appearance in Rio is still a prototype version. The car may not be ready for launch in stores but is fully functional and can be used for daily transportation. The one we saw in 2013 has evolved a lot in the past three years and the latest images released by the automobile brand shows a promising, futuristic car.

Some significant design changes are adopted in the Bladeglider which looks like a bullet car. The new design gives it a sporty outlook which is essential for the brand to be able to market it to the mainstream audience. A two tone color scheme adds splendor to the already stylish looking vehicle.

The cabin is quite small compared to any other sedan or coupe but it still could comfortably accommodate the limited passengers. A circular steering wheel is used so as to achieve a conventional finish. The center console features a large touchscreen and two more screens are mounted on the back for the passengers. The Nissan Bladeglider can accommodate only three persons at a time.

It is available in two different variants including a Stealth Orange and a Cyber Green model. The car is powered by an all-electric motor. The 220 kilowatt lithium ion battery can bring up to 174 horsepower from the electric motor. It is more than enough to cruise through the city especially with the car’s capability to reach 62 miles per hour in just five seconds and a top speed pegged at 115 miles per hour.

Speaking about the car, Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan said that the new Bladeglider is for lover of cars, especially those who love compactness and the brand new electrified models. “It celebrates the best of everything and is designed to be stylish in every perspective,” he added.

2017 Nissan Micra Undergoes Drastic Changes, Spy Shots Emerge

The Nissan Micra is a well-known model which has helped the company reach heights and witness amazing sales.

The company is now ready to make some drastic changes to the car in the 2017 edition.

Designed to be a strong competent for the Ford Fiesta, the new 2017 Nissan Micra was spotted and the spy shots confirmed that the automobile brand is going for something radical. The car was heavily wrapped in camouflage but we could still make out the basic design. The production version of the model is scheduled to get launched at the Paris motor show this year. The existing Micra is exceptionally old because Nissan has been using the same platform for more than 13 years. The chassis has started showing its age, demanding a major revamp which is what the brand is doing now.

Being an outdated model, Micra has lost to many of its competitors because it looks old and doesn’t perform as intended. Nissan has adopted the new CMF-B platform specifically designed for small cars by Renault. The exterior design is similar to the Sway concept model showcased at the auto expo last year while other parts of the car are inspired by the Juke and the front end is angular. In short, the 2017 Nissan Micra is a mix of everything we have seen so far combined with many new cues the design team has picked up.

Compared to the outgoing model, the new Nissan Micra is longer, has a lower base and wider giving ample space for the passengers onboard. If we are to go by the prototype spotted on the road, there will be plenty of space not just for the passengers but also an increased boot space to store more items. A futuristic dashboard should be part of the Micra with all the expected features and some more innovative ones like autonomous driving. Most companies aren’t going for the self-driving concept but rather features which will make driving easy and reduce human made errors.

The car is equipped with autonomous braking for added safety, works with all smartphones and Bluetooth connectivity. A range of petrol and diesel engines will be available but there is no word on going for a hybrid version for the 2017 Nissan Micra. We are really close to the big Paris motor show and when it commences, we will know everything you need to know about the new Micra. Stay tuned!

Nissan Note Black Edition Revealed, Priced At £14,415

The automobile brand has revealed the new Nissan Note Black Edition. The car has been priced at £14,415.

Compared to the base model, the special edition is much higher for which a wide range of new components and design changes are being offered.

As the name suggests, the Black Edition features a rich black finish with a glossy touch throughout the car including the pillars, the door handles and the door mirrors. The black finish is carried throughout the particular edition on the boot spoiler and the 16-inch alloy wheels. The interiors feature a black glossy dashboard which is shared by the gear stick, the door handles, black headliner and other areas.

In the Note Black Edition, Nissan has upgraded the model with electric rear windows making it easy for the passengers onboard to control them. The infotainment system is connected to the Nissan Connect proprietary but it is purely an option choice that buyers can choose to ignore. There is no mandatory requirement to use the service offered by Nissan. The company offers the new special edition for Acenta trim owners. All the standard components found in the trimline will be part of the package.

When compared with the base model, the new Nissan Note Black Edition is priced £3,420. For budget buyers, the pricing might deter them from going for the car. However, for everyone else who likes to have a different variant with the Acenta trim, the Black Edition of the Note is the best choice available in the market. It brings a host of new upgrades, a stylish black gloss finish and better features than the entry level model.

The model is powered by a 1.2-liter DiG-S petrol engine and an alternative option would be the 1.5-liter dCi diesel engine. Both of them are available as a tuned version to offer the best performance on road while maintaining fuel efficiency. The more powerful petrol engine variant does offer buyers a chance to upgrade their vehicle with a CVT transmission system.

2017 Nissan Pathfinder Removes Hybrid Powertain From Its Lineup

Nissan Pathfinder is easily one of the vehicles which has undergone some drastic changes since launch.

The 2017 Patfinder however will remain with a unibody design and the auto manufacturers have decided to add a new hybrid powertrain to it.

Throughout the time, Nissan has imposed some major modifications to the Pathfinder series of vehicles. It changed from being a truck to a utility vehicle built on the chassis of a car and then changed into a truck again. The changes were implemented numerous times but the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder should finally define its role more clearly. Surprisingly, the auto brand didn’t make any drastic changes to the vehicle and left it as it is with the same unibody design.

The designers have retained the stylish, aggressive looks of the vehicle. It is an able choice for people looking to have a seven seater with ample headroom, performance and most importantly a vehicle that could perform as a reliable truck. For obvious reasons, Nissan has decided to discontinue the hybrid version. An electric motor doesn’t make much sense for a truck and people may not be willing to pay higher for the additional mileage it offers. Besides, it also leads to lower performance at times.

“We had to remove the hybrid variant because of the economic situations we are in at the moment. Compared to other vehicles, the trucks aren’t the fastest selling types and people are more fuel conscious that they are about using electric motors. They want a hassle free trucking experience and that is what we are going to provide our customers,” said Mike Drongowski, head of Nissan’s product planning division.

The company has confirmed that the new 2017 Nissan Pathfinder will go on sale in the month of September. There will be all the trimline variants as it has been including the S, SV, SL and the Platinum versions. The brand has successfully completed 30 years since the model was officially launched. Despite the occasion, there is no sign of special edition or limited edition Pathfinder in sight. Nissan may choose to announce it at a later date.

Pathfinder has been a vehicle in Nissan’s stable that has continued to change with times and is easily the most modified truck in a very long time. However, the brand seems to have found the right balance for the vehicle for now and hopes to continue it for many generations to come.

The pack costs $990 which illuminates the door sills, has a spoiler and stylish side skirts. The car’s performance and powertrain remains exactly the same.

On the inside, the 2017 Nissan Maxima is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine. The car is capable of producing a total of 300 horsepower which is delivered to the front wheels. The new Maxima uses a front wheel driving system by default and is powered by a continuously variable transmission system. The Maxima goes on sale this week and is a good choice for people who already own the model. Those who look forward to buy a new car with plenty of basic features can also go for the Nissan offering.
