2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness is All Set to Thrill the Off-road Adventure Freaks

2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness

If you crave adventure with your car, Subaru certainly has something exciting for you, as it comes out with the 2022 Outback Wilderness. This is touted as the most efficient and rugged Outback to have surfaced so far, having incredible off-road efficacy and stability.

With a 40 mm wider body, the 2022 Outback Wilderness can be easily distinguished through its revamped grille and bumpers. Its comparatively larger wheel-arch cladding provides it a much sturdier appeal. Apart from these, the roof rails, window moldings, and mirror caps with black outer trim are some of the features that make it stand out. There is a black hood decal that makes it identical to Ford Mustang Mach 1.

Subaru claims that the black decal design is meant for lowering the sun glare through off-road rides. Enriched with 225/65R17 all-terrain tires, the 2022 Outback Wilderness provides the perfect arrangement for effective grip essential for off-road trials. This, in combination with a matte-black alloy wheel, makes it even more exciting. To take care of the visibility aspects while riding through the challenging paths, it provides LED hexagonal fog lamps. Ensuring complete protection of the engine, the Outback comes with four skid plates. It keeps the turbocharged 2.4-liter engine intact, though the 2022 Outback Wilderness boosts its efficacy through its off-road suspension design, ultimately coming with a cumulative ground clearance of 241 mm.

To offer greater help for drivers, especially while passing through challenging muddy or icy paths, it comes with an X-MODE function. Additionally, there is roll angle information provided with the X-MODE display. In terms of towing capacity, it stands still at 3,500 pounds or 1,588 Kgs at maximum. However, the fixed-roof rails provide a static load capacity of 700 pounds or 318 Kgs.

Don’t worry about your Outback getting dirty while crossing through the off-road trails as it comes with a much-enduring framework that can be easily cleaned. The all-weather super-soft upholstery along with explicit floor liners made up of rubber (weatherproof) makes it exciting. The interior of the Outback feels incredible to touch through explicit an anodized copper-finish.

Subaru claims that a whole range of safety arrangements has been provided for the equipment. There is a front-view camera meant for providing a closer 180-degree view upfront, which can be useful while driving at the junctions and while passing through contracted trails with huddles throughout. Moreover, if you want a vehicle in terms of performance, rather than mere looks, then this is the one you should go with.

The 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness is all set to be available with Canadian dealers this spring, but there is no clarity regarding the price.

Subaru VIZIV-7 Concept Car is a Mid-sized SUV Scheduled for 2018 Launch

At the Los Angeles auto expo, the Subaru VIZIV-7 concept SUV was revealed.

The auto brand confirmed that it is the largest car in their lineup and will go into production by 2018.

With two years to go, the SUV, we expect will be packed to the brim with best technology and safety features combined with a performance driven powertrain that matters. The concept model is literally large and can easily convince most people to go for it if space is all they need. Not many cars can boast of the headroom and legroom this mid-sized SUV offers. It has three full rows of seats and a seven-seater wagon is a rarity in this time of crossovers and compact cars.

The scenario has changed a lot and there is a huge demand for compact crossovers. However, in order to bank in on the sales, most automobile brands turned their attention towards the smaller SUVs. Subaru is interested in leaving their mark and the 4×4 VIZIV-7 has the potential to get the job done. The mid-sized SUV is much larger than what the company claims it to be. The concept model measures about 5,200mm in length, 1,860mm height and is 2,030mm in width. The dimensions are very much similar to the Range Rover Sport but the only difference is that the Subaru SUV has a smaller wheelbase measured at 2,990mm.

There is the Forester and the Outback in the UK region but the new SUV is not going to make its way to the region anytime soon. Instead, the company has planned to go with North America first before considering the possibility of expanding their horizons. The style quotient is evident in the car’s front fascia which sports Subaru’s newly introduced large, angular grille accentuated by C-shaped headlamps.

Carbon fiber cladding is found in abundance and it goes all the way up to the front bumper. The fog lamps and the LED daytime running lights are mounted on this cladding. The large posture of the car is party due to the large 21.-inch wheels and despite being sizeable in all areas, the Subaru VIZIV-7 concept manages to not look boxy and be stylish in its own way.

The production version of the car will be very close to the concept model displayed at the 2016 Los Angeles auto show. Subaru has found a sweet spot with an amazing car that’s so promising and we look forward to its 2018 launch.

Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid Discontinued, Company Details Future Plans

The brand has decided to stop selling Subaru Crosstrek hybrid as the model had a very short and lackluster presence in the automobile market.

Whenever a car fails to meet expectations and doesn’t deliver enough revenue, automobile manufacturers usually choose to discontinue the particular variant. The Subaru Crosstrek hybrid met with the same fate. It was originally launched at the 2013 New York auto show and was known as the XV Crosstek hybrid back then.

The car was later named in a much simpler manner as the Crosstrek hybrid. It was powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine which can render a total power output of 160 horsepower. The numbers include the power delivered by the engine and the electric motor used in the hybrid model. While Subaru has planned to launch new hybrid models in the near future, they are not going to make anymore Crosstrek variants as of now.

“We are still interested in this market and there is no plan to leave the hybrid segment totally. At the moment, the team is working on a new hybrid vehicle. It is too early to talk about the specifications of the car but we will be coming back to the hybrids real soon,” said Jeff Walters, executive Vice President of sales for Subaru’s American division.

The upcoming car is expected to be built on the same global platform used by many Subaru cars. It was first introduced with the 5th generation Impreza and has proved successful ever since. The platform is quite robust with a rigid body and has enough space for a hybrid vehicle’s batteries to be mounted. It can also be used to build electric cars as well as plug-in hybrid models if Subaru opines it is the way to go to build a strong future in the automobile industry.

While the Subaru Crosstrek hybrid didn’t meet sales expectations set by the brand, overall sales of the car jumped from 3.1 percent to 11.4 percent this year confirming the fact that buyers are ready to move into new era of vehicles. Electric cars are being fully supported by mainstream audience and some of them find hybrids as well as plug-in hybrids a good way to start adopting eco-friendly vehicles.

The Crosstrek hybrid models available with individual dealers are still up for sale and those who are planning to buy one can do so. Subaru will reveal more information on their future hybrid version probably in 2017.

Subaru Rolls Out WRX S4 tS Sedan Car for Sale Only In Japan

The Subaru WRX S4 is here for the customers, who want a performance almost near to the Subaru-WRX which is developed by the Subaru Tecnica International.

The Subaru WRX S4 comes with a more refined, less flashy look without the hassles of a manual transmission. The customers can still add the STI Performance package and the STI Style Package to their S4. However, the addition of these packages will still have the S4 drivers deal with a car that is shy of the full-fledged STI. For those customers who do want the manual gearbox of the STI, a limited version of the WRX S4 tS will be released by Subaru’s STI division. The WRX S4 tS will be similar to the WRX STI but will have a transmission that will be continuously variable.

The Engine Details

The WRX S4 tS comes with the same turbocharged flat-four power train, which has a capacity of 2.0 liters. The tS is accommodated with an oil cooler along with the S4’s CVT. The exhaust and intake parts have been modified which is claimed to enhance the 300 hp acceleration of the sedan by a near 10 percent. The other features that enhance the tS’s majestic abilities include the strut tower brace, four-piston front brakes from Brembo, front suspension with adjustable damping, and an all-wheel-drive system which is torque vectored.

Spotting a WRX S4 tS should be very easy on the streets of Japan, and all the credit goes to the 19-inch BBS wheels, the front spoiler which is very apparent, and the red stripes on the rear bumper and on the body framework. However, the customers who want to gather more attention to their car and themselves can also opt for the extra NBR Challenge package which costs 300,000 Yen (approx. $2920). The package has been introduced to honor Subaru’s classic win at the Nürburgring 24-hour endurance races in 2015 and 2016. The NBR Challenge package also adds a whopping rear wing to the trunk lid of the car and comes with 19-inch BBS wheels that are painted in black.

The Interiors

On the inside, the front seats are embraced by a set of Recaro seats from STI, while the speedometer is a tS-exclusive version from STI. The NBR Challenge package also includes the standard EyeSight safety system of Subaru and the steering wheel comes wrapped in microsuede.

The Subaru WRX S4 tS model by STI will be available for sale from October 4th, 2016 in Japan through March 12th, 2017. The starting price of the sedan will be 4,600,000 Yen (approx. $44,725) without including the consumption tax of Japan. Frankly speaking, this car has been built for the Japanese car market and there is no reason to be unhappy that is not coming out to the other countries. However, the only reason to be happy will be if the gorgeous BBS wheels are out, along with the U.S. spec WRX STI, and the intimidating front splitter to the manual-only versions.

Subaru is Working on a Mid-Engined Sports Car Prototype

Subaru engineers are busy working on a mid-engined sports car prototype. The news is yet to be made official as automobile manufacturers like to keep things covered until the right time comes.

It is anticipated that the company will bring the sports car as a successor to the Subaru RBZ.

The design is being addressed as ‘something special’ by the crew working on it. The car is made to meet the requirements of dealerships who require a different model from the conventional launches Subaru has been having in the past. The report comes from the US which hints at a possibility of the car not only being researched in the region but may also be built for the particular audience than expand it to global regions.

According to inside sources who revealed the information, Subaru is working on a prototype which is a mix of the existing RBZ and combining it with a petrol hybrid engine. The model will feature an all-wheel drive and falls into the performance category to justify the sports car tag. Pricing should be on the higher side as the brand is looking forward to impress speed lovers and not cater it to the daily commuters.

The all-wheel drive system found in the 2014 Viziv 2 SUV will be used in the prototype. The model uses a 1.6-liter turbo charged four-cylinder petrol engine which might probably be used for the concept model as well and mated with an electric motor to make it in hybrid. The power of the electric motor will be shared, with one motor being allotted to each rear wheel.

For better aerodynamics and fuel efficiency, the engineers have decided to switch the position of the engine. The petrol engine will be moved to the back while the electric motors will be mounted in the front. Another consideration that Subaru is undergoing at the moment is they are not sure whether to go for a coupe or build a small, crossover SUV. It might be determined by what buyers expect from the brand.

Adding to the news, inside sources confirmed that a coupe has more probability than a SUV. It may take a couple of months before official information related to the prototype drops in. Once the model hits the road for testing, we should be able to easily know much more about the design that Subaru opted for. It is expected that the upcoming car will share a lot of common elements with the RBZ.
