Taylor Swift, the American actress and singer-songwriter, added an Emmy to her award kitty as early winners for the Television Academy awards were announced. The ‘Bad Blood’ singer won the award for Outstanding Original Interactive Program for the app, ‘AMEX Unstaged: The Taylor Swift Experience’.
The app based on her ‘Blank Space’ music video is downloadable from the Apple App Store and Google Play. The app allows users to explore the extravagant and elaborate sets of the ‘Blank Space’ music video, which is directed by Joseph Kahn. Swift fans will be able to choose who to follow, where to go and what to explore in the lavish house replete with objects, characters and some amazing scene settings. The entire app leveraged on a 360 degree camera to deliver a highly interactive experience for users.
The ‘1989’ singer executive produced as well as starred in the ‘AMEX Unstaged: The Taylor Swift Experience’. Explaining the app, the singer said, ‘We’ve been able to create something that I’ve never been able to give my fans before, which is a 360 degree experience where they’re getting to explore the storyland of our video and be in the room with us’.
Taylor Swift shared the Outstanding Original Interactive Program award under the juried awards umbrella with ‘Emma Approved’, an internet series that narrates the story of Emma by Jane Austen set in the modern times. The ‘Bad Blood’ singer has been talking with Mariska Hargitay to appear as a guest star in “Law and Order: SVU’. Mariska told Entertainment Tonight, ‘We’re going to wait until the end of the 1989 World Tour to see how it goes. But it’s in the air’.
Taylor Swift’s awards kitty already has seven Grammys and now the first Emmy is also part of it. Together, she is at the halfway mark for the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) status. She will be presented the Emmy on September 12 in Los Angeles at the Creative Arts Emmys. However, the actress-singer may not be present in person as she will be performing in Saint Paul, Minnesota, that night as part of her ‘1989 World Tour’.
