With so many big brands and manufacturers showcasing their vehicles, it is easy to miss those amazing cars like the Volvo S60 Polestar which is a great all-rounder.
The sedan may not deliver increased horsepower as the Mercedes AMG C63 does or have the acceleration of the popular BMW M3. However, it is spacious, has enough luxurious amenities integrated into it and can give you the performance you need to travel with comfort. While the weird blue is something that makes the sedan look kind of quirky, it is not something a common buyer would mind. After all, there are so many cars with weird colors out there and people don’t hesitate to buy them. There are those who buy a sedan and give them silly paintjobs just to stand out of the crowd.
It’s a purely personal choice! The Volva S60 Polestar is powered by a reliable six cylinder engine with twin scroll turbo and renders a supreme 345 horsepower. Not every sedan boasts of such numbers, especially at a price point that is much lower than the BMW M3 among other models in the same class. The conventional S60 T6 R-design has 369 pound feet of torque and is powered by an automatic transmission model.
The all-wheel drive system is an added advantage found in this Volvo sedan. While the technology is quite common in most other vehicles from the brand, the system on a sedan makes it easier to climb on elevated roads and gives a better pull in the highways. The car uses Michelin Pilot Sport tires which provide amazing grip on the road while the braking system proved extremely reliable on road tests.
The Volvo S60 Polestar can accelerate from 0 to 60 in 4.7 seconds. Once again, the BMW M3 may beat this number by touching the same speed a couple of milliseconds earlier. However, when you are commuting daily to your office and going on long drives on the weekend, such factors may hardly match as long as the sedan has enough legroom and a comfortable seating arrangement. Volvo delivers them all and more. The infotainment system is not the best of the lot, but it does basic actions and allows you to enjoy music from your personal devices besides adding a couple of driver-assist systems.
While the Volvo S60 is definitely not a contemporary sedan, it has a unique build, great interiors combined with a decent performance and the fact that it stands out of the crowd may appeal to those who prefer exclusivity.
